A wet rotor-type pump, in particular used for pumping a coolant in vehicle motors, comprises a pump impeller for feeding a fluid and a motor rotor connected with the pump impeller. In wet rotor-type pumps the motor rotor is cooled by the fluid to be pumped.

Rotor protector for wet-type rotor pump

A wet-type rotor pump which is particularly suitable for feeding coolant in motorcar engines comprises a pump wheel. By the pump wheel, a feed medium is fed through an intake channel into a discharge channel. Via a common shaft, a motor armature of an electric motor is connected with the pump wheel. The motor armature is surrounded by a slit pot, feed medium flowing around the motor armature to cool it. The shaft is supported by two radial bearings, one radial bearing being arranged in a supporting element. The supporting element that is arranged within the intake channel further comprises an abutting surface on which a flow surface of the pump wheel abuts to take up axial forces.

Wet-type rotor pump

The invention rests on the idea that the information for controlling an EC-motor is taken from the adjustment or position of the control unit, which can be ascertained by means of a position indicator, such as a potentiometer, Hall indicator, etc. The current pattern for the EC-motor can thereafter, for example, be determined in a microcomputer disposed in the motor control for the control unit, without the motor having a rotor position determination.

Motor control for an EC-motor

The electric motor comprises an internal rotor and an external stator with stator windings. The rotor comprises several permanently magnetic pole shoes. The stator windings are supported by stator pole shanks comprising, radially inside, stator pole shoes facing the rotor pole shoes. Via a short circuit bridge, the stator pole shoes are connected with the adjacent stator pole shoes so that all the stator pole shanks are integrally formed with each other. Radially outside, the stator pole shanks and stator pole shoes are connected with each other only by a separate yoke ring set thereon. All the windings are wound from radially outside with one single continuous winding wire when the yoke ring has been removed.
