Control commands for a control device of a machine define a sequence of successive sections of ideal position target values for a position-controlled shaft of the machine. The ideal position target values either increase or decrease monotonically within the sections, but the direction of the monotony changes from section to section. A position controller determines actuating signals for an actuator from position target values resulting from ideal position target values, additional target values and position actual values. Within sections, the additional target values are positive (negative) when the ideal position target values increase (decrease) monotonically. The additional target values have a first component dependent exclusively on a position difference, with the magnitude of the first component increasing as the magnitude of the position difference increases, first strictly monotonically and then at least monotonically.

Position-controlled control with compensation of elasticity-induced position errors

The embodiments relate to a method and to a device for operating a system including a generator and an internal combustion engine driving the generator, wherein a rotational speed of the generator is controlled by a rotational speed controller. In the method, the rotational speed controller outputs a target torque as manipulated variable, and an additional torque is imposed on the target torque, wherein the additional torque is calculated or is determined based on a measured value picked up from the system.

Operating an internal combustion engine coupled to a generator

An internal combustion engine includes a piston oscillating in a cylinder linearly between a top dead centre and a bottom dead centre. A crankshaft driven by the piston via a connecting rod is connected to the rotor of a first electrical machine. The rotor co-operates electromagnetically with a stator of the first electrical machine. The stator is connected to a first current converter unit for bidirectional transmission of electrical energy. The rotor of a second electrical machine is disposed on the piston. The stator of the second electrical machine is disposed on the piston. The rotor of the second electrical machine co-operates electromagnetically with the stator of the second electrical machine. The stator of the second electrical machine is connected to a second current converter unit for unidirectional or bidirectional transmission of electrical energy. The current converter units are controlled by a control device common to the current converter units.

Internal combustion engine having a linear generator and rotary generator

A method and a device for controlling the drive of a vertical mill having a grinding plate rotatable about the vertical axis are disclosed. The grinding plate can be driven by an electric motor and a drivetrain with a gearbox. An actual rotational speed and a drivetrain torque with respect to the drivetrain are detected and are fed to a control device together with a specified target rotational speed. The control device generates an output signal for a target torque based on the actual rotational speed and the target rotational speed and based on the drivetrain torque such that the resulting target torque is reduced or increased in the same direction as a torque resulting from the milling process.
