The present invention relates to an aqueous, solids-containing dipping bath composition for treating reinforcing inserts for rubber products comprising the following components or consisting of these components, (A) at least one blocked MDI mixture, the MDI mixture comprising MDI oligomers of formula (I), n being a whole number from 1 to 8, and MDI monomers; (B) at least one latex; (C) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of polyacrylates, lignin derivatives and mixtures hereof; and (D) possibly at least one additive; the dipping bath composition being essentially free of epoxides, and the dipping bath composition being essentially free of resorcinol, formaldehyde and the reaction products thereof. 

Dipping bath compositions for treating reinforcing inserts

The present invention relates to an aqueous, solids-containing dipping bath composition for treating reinforcing inserts for rubber products comprising the following components or consisting of these components, (A) at least one blocked MDI mixture, the MDI mixture comprising MDI oligomers of formula (I), n being a whole number from 1 to 8, and MDI monomers; (B) at least one resorcinol-formaldehyde latex; and (C) possibly at least one additive, wherein the dipping bath composition is essentially free of epoxides. 

The invention relates to a method for the production of 4,4'-methylenebis(phenylisocyanate) dimer (MDI dimer) which is distinguished by an MDI dimer being obtained which is present in high purity. The MDI dimer which is produced according to the method according to the invention is distinguished by being essentially free of MDI and also urea derivatives. Furthermore, the invention relates to a corresponding MDI dimer and also the use thereof as crosslinker for polyurethanes.

Also a process for producing thermosetting coating systems of carboxyl-functional polyester resins, wherein binder resin, at least one cross-linking agent from the group of polyfunctional epoxy compounds and &bgr;-hydroxy alkyl amides and, if required, further customary additives are mixed into the melt at 90 to 130&deg; C., extruded, removed, granulated, comminuted and screened to a size of less than 100 &mgr;m. Finally, uses of the thermosetting coating system and of a protective layer produced from this coating system.

Epoxidizing carboxy-functional acrylate copolymers with epihaloalkane

A method for making glycidyl ether-functional (meth)acrylate copolymers includes the step of reacting a hydroxyalkyl-functional (meth)acrylate copolymer with an epihalohydrin in the presence of a suitable catalyst.
