What are provided are colour-stable, low-salt nitrile rubbers and a process for production thereof under specific conditions for the coagulation and/or washing of the nitrile rubber. Additionally obtainable are the corresponding vulcanizable mixtures based on this nitrile rubber, a process for producing vulcanizates from these mixtures and the resultant vulcanizates having excellent processing properties.

Color-stable nitrile rubbers

Pulverulent mixtures containing at least one nitrite rubber and at least one release agent, which are characterized by a particular average particle diameter, are provided. These mixtures have particularly low emissions and are outstandingly suitable for producing materials and components for indoor applications.

Pulverulent mixtures containing low-emission nitrile rubbers

A copolymer rubber includes, based on a total amount of 100% by weight of all monomer units, &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-ethylenically unsaturated nitrile units, conjugated diene units, and &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid monoester units selected from the group consisting of methoxyethyl (meth)acrylates, and polyethylene glycol (meth)acrylates. The rubber has a glass transition temperature lower than &#x2212;20&#xb0; C., an oil swelling of not more than 20 vol %, and provides a balance of good low-temperature stability and oil resistance.

Copolymer rubber containing nitrile groups

Novel rubbers are provided which are stabilized by a specific combination of at least three different anti ageing compounds. Said rubbers dispose of an increase storage stability as well as an improved colour stability over the short term as well as over the long term. The invention also relates a process for producing said novel rubbers, vulcanizable mixtures based thereon, a process for producing vulcanizates from those mixtures and the vulcanizates obtained.

Stabilized rubbers

An improved polymerization process using a specific molecular weight regulator makes it possible to produce new nitrile rubbers featuring particularly low emission values and giving vulcanizates which have an advantageous profile of properties and which are of outstanding quality, in particular in odor-sensitive applications.

Nitrile rubbers having low emission values

A new process is provided for preparing nitrile rubbers by free-radical polymerization in an organic solvent and in the presence of specific modifier substances. This polymerization may be followed by hydrogenation to give likewise new hydrogenated nitrile rubbers, the hydrogenation advantageously taking place likewise in organic solvent. The optionally hydrogenated nitrile rubbers obtained are notable for having fragments of the employed modifier substances in the main polymer chain and/or as end groups. They can be prepared with a wide diversity of molecular weights and polydispersity indices, especially with very low polydispersity indices.
