A continuous time digital signal processing (CT DSP) token includes a first signal indicating a change has occurred and a second signal indicating a direction of the change. An amplitude generation circuit operates to generate an amplitude value x in response to the token. A power estimation circuit processes the amplitude value x to generate a digital power signal in accordance with the formula: x&#xb1;2x+1.

Instantaneous power estimation in a continuous time digital signal processing system

A method is provided for providing an automated assistance to design an analog non linear circuit under transient conditions, and to a corresponding system. The method enables the circuit designer to consider with simulation the time reactive effects of generally nonlinear components, while keeping the significant and intuitive qualities of an analysis view design tool like the CAIRO+/CHAMS environment. The method includes at least a transient instant solving procedure producing a numerical simulation that uses a given set of sizes and biases to provide a set of local behavior parameters in at least one node at current time. This transient instant solving procedure includes an incremental iteration under transient conditions of an evaluation in an analysis view of a dependency graph of the functional structure of the circuit. An optional transient analysis performs a numerical simulation to provide a time dependent behavior simulation of the circuit, and a performance evaluation.

Method for automated assistance to design nonlinear analog circuit with transient solver

A terahertz imager includes an array of pixel circuits. Each pixel circuit has an antenna and a detector. The detector is coupled to differential output terminals of the antenna. A frequency oscillator is configured to generate a frequency signal on an output line. The output line is coupled to an input terminal of the antenna of at least one of the pixel circuits.

A frequency oscillator includes a ring oscillator having N inverters coupled in series, where N is an odd integer equal to three or more. A first filter is coupled between an output node of a first of the inverters and an output line of the frequency oscillator. A second filter is coupled between an output node of a second of the inverters and the output line of the frequency oscillator.

The invention relates to a device comprising a direct path block with an input and an output, and a feedback block with an input and an output, the input of the direct path block being adapted to receive a multi-channel input signal with a given frequency range and the output of the direct path block being adapted to output an output signal with a base band frequency range, the output of the direct path block being coupled to the input of the feedback block and the input of the direct path block being coupled to the output of the feedback block. The direct path block comprises a first transposing unit () adapted to transpose the input signal to the base band frequency range and the feedback block comprises a filtering unit () adapted to filter the transposed signal at the output of the direct path block, a second transposing unit () adapted to transpose the filtered signal to the given frequency range and to feed back the transposed signal at the input of the direct path block. The first transposing unit and the second transposing unit are reconfigurable in function of the given frequency range of the input signal.

The digital delta-sigma modulator includes a signal input for receiving digital samples of N bits, and a digital filter connected to the signal input. The digital filter performs addition/subtraction and integration operations according to a redundant arithmetic coding for delivering digital filtered samples. A quantizer performs a nonexact quantization operation so as to deliver digital output samples of n bits, with n being less than N. The input of the quantizer is connected within the digital filter.

A logarithmic analog to digital conversion method for an analog input signal includes a logarithmic amplification with progressive compression of the input signal delivering a sequence of several secondary analog signals. The trend of the values of at least some of the secondary signals is a function of the values of the analog input signal including regions corresponding to a linear trend of the secondary signals as a function of that of the input signal expressed in a logarithmic scale. The method also includes a comparison of at least some of the secondary signals of the sequence with a common reference signal whose value lies within each of regions, supplying a thermometric code information item, and a generation of a first digital word from the thermometric code information item.

An integrated circuit includes input circuitry for receiving a radio frequency digital signal, output circuitry capable of delivering a radio frequency analog signal, and a processing stage coupled between the input circuitry and the output circuitry and including several processing channels in parallel. Each processing channel may include a voltage switching block the input of which is coupled to the input circuitry and a transmission line substantially of the quarter-wave type at the frequency of the radio frequency analog signal coupled in series between the output of the voltage switching block and the output circuitry.

Integrated circuit and corresponding method of processing a multitype radio frequency digital signal

A lattice tunable filtering circuit includes a first input and a second input, and a first output and a second output. The circuit includes two series branches and two parallel branches. The first and second series branches include a Tunable Resonator Component (TRC) which presents a first series resonance frequency whereas the third and fourth parallel branches present a second series resonance frequency which has a value being lower than that of the first series resonance frequency. The first and second series resonance frequencies are tunable by one analog control quantity. The filtering circuit further includes a feedback control loop for the control of the analog quantity, which feedback is based on a criterion of equality between the modulus of impedances Zs and Zp.

The invention concerns a method for adjusting the operating gap of two mechanical elements of a substantially planar mechanical structure obtained by micro-etching. The method consists in attributing (A) to one of the elements (E) a fixed reference position (RF) in the direction of the residual gap separating said elements; connecting (C) the other element (OE) to the fixed reference position (RF) by an elastic link (S) and installing (D) between the fixed reference position (RF) and the other element (OE) at least a stop block defining an abutting gap, maximum displacement amplitude of the other element; subjecting (DE) the other element (OE) to a displacement antagonistic to the elastic link (S) up to the abutting position constituting the operating position, the residual gap being reduced to the difference between residual gap and abutting gap and less than the resolution of the micro-etching process. The invention is applicable to electromechanical resonators.

Method for gap adjustment of two mechanical elements of a substantially planar micromechanical structure and corresponding electromechanical resonator

A filtering circuit based on a lattice structure comprising a first and a second input and a first and second output. The circuit further comprises two series impedance and two parallel impedance which each comprises an acoustic resonator associated with two inductive and capacitive components which can be adjusted by a first control value. The second and fourth impedance comprise each an acoustic resonator associated to two inductive and capacitive components which are adjustable by means of a second control value. A control circuit generates the two control values which simultaneously comprise a common mode potential and a differential mode potential which allows the emergence of first and second pass bands which are usable for realizing two different bandpass filters.

A transconductance filtering device with a flexible architecture that can selectively present a different topology and/or order beginning with the same initial structure is disclosed. For example, depending on the communications standard detected, the elementary cells of the filtering circuit required to form the adapted filter are selected and connected in such a manner as to obtain the configuration desired for the filtering means. As an example, the filter may be for use with a wireless communications system forming, in particular, a cellular mobile telephone. The filter is configurable by means of at least two elementary cells of the same structure and of controllable interconnection means each having an open or closed state.

Transconductance filtering circuit

An electronic device where the ratio between two amplification factors of two amplifiers, called main amplifiers, is adjusted using a control means. The control means constantly equalizes the output signals of the two main amplifiers by adapting one of the control signals. The output signals are acted on in order to adjust the control signals. Owing to the fact that the input signals are in a ratio N, this same ratio is obtained between the amplification factors of the two main amplifiers. The two main control signals, used to control the main amplifiers, are employed for controlling any other amplification factor of at least two other amplifiers or groups of amplifiers, so as to establish a ratio N between these other amplification factors. The main circuit thus allows N to be applied and regulated between the amplification factors of other amplifiers.
