A method and to a system for producing open or closed annular structural components made of light metal and alloys thereof, preferably of magnesium or magnesium alloys, having a two-dimensional or three-dimensional structure by means of extrusion, wherein the extruded profile exiting the die of the extrusion press is formed into a helical shape by way of one or more guide tools, and more particularly such that the ends of the helical shape are separated from the extruded strand in the region of the overlap and formed into a two-dimensional or three-dimensional structural component in a shaping device.

Method and system for producing open or closed annular structural components made of light metal and alloys thereof

A method and a system produces extrusion billets from scraps obtained from stamping, cutting and/or machining operations, in particular scraps made of magnesium or magnesium alloys, without subjecting these to a melting process. The system for carrying out the method is essentially composed of a storage unit for the scraps, a device for comminuting the scraps, a press for producing a round briquette, and an extruder for shaping the round briquette into a extrusion billet.

Method and plant for producing extrusion billets

The invention for working extruded profile sections with respect to the outer contours thereof by way of hot shaping and/or hot stamping and/or cutting operations and/or punching operations comprises the following method steps: &#x2014;inserting the profile sections () heated to a temperature in the range of 250 to 450&#xb0; C. into a two-part shaping tool () preheated to a temperature of 300 to 600&#xb0; C.; and &#x2014;applying pressure to the shaping tool () by way of one or more pressing cylinders () of a press (). The device for carrying out the method comprises a press () and a shaping tool, wherein the shaping tool () is formed of two tool halves I, II, which are displaceable with respect to each other, and between which the profile section () is inserted.

Method and device for processing extruded profile segments composed of magnesium or magnesium alloys and a lightweight construction element produced therefrom

Metal sheets () are produced from strand-shaped profiles () having a low thickness, made of magnesium or magnesium alloys by way of an extrusion system (). The open or closed extruded profile () exiting the extrusion die (-) of an extrusion press () is shaped to obtain a flat metal sheet () and is then subjected to a defined shaping process by way of stretch-forming. The system for carrying out the method is essentially composed of an extrusion press () comprising a die plate generating the extruded profile and a shaping unit () following the die plate, wherein the shaping unit () is composed of a severing unit (), a bending unit (), and an unrolling unit ().
