An electrodynamic actuator () for a plate like structure () or membrane () is disclosed, which comprises a voice coil (), a magnet system () and a plurality of arms () coupling the voice coil () and the magnet system () in a movable manner. The arms () are made of a metal with a fatigue strength of at least 370 N/mmor an ultimate tensile strength of at least 1100 N/mm. Each of the arms () comprises at least two arm sections (s, s, s), which are arranged movable to each other, and which are connected to each other by means of a damping material () with a tensile storage modulus of 0.1-6000 MPa and a tensile loss factor of at least 0.1, each measured at room temperature of 20° C. Moreover the invention relates to speaker () and an electrodynamic transducer () with such an electrodynamic actuator () and a method of manufacturing an intermediate product for such an electrodynamic actuator ().

An electrodynamic actuator for a speaker or an electrodynamic acoustic transducer in general is disclosed, which comprises at least one voice coil, a magnet system and an arm arrangement of a plurality of arms connecting the at least one voice coil and the magnet system or at least a movable part thereof so that a relative movement between these parts is allowed. The arms are made of a metal core, which at least partly is coated with a coating structure having at least one coating metal layer consisting of a different material than the metal core.

An electrodynamic acoustic transducer is disclosed, which comprises a frame and/or a housing, at least one coil and a magnet system, which is fixed to the frame and/or the housing and which is designed to generate a magnetic field through the coil. Furthermore, the electrodynamic acoustic transducer comprises a polygonal membrane, which in an inner portion is fixed to the at least one coil and which in an outer annular portion is fixed to the frame or the housing. A first distance between the outer annular portion and the inner portion at a longitudinal side of the polygonal membrane is smaller or greater than a second distance between the outer annular portion and the inner portion at a corner of the polygonal membrane.

Electrodynamic acoustic transducer having a polygonal membrane with improved compliance

An improved ultrasonic lens and associated system is provided. Specifically, there is provided an ultrasonic lens with two sets of parallel sound ports operatively connected to an electrodynamic transducer to extend the working range of both audible and ultrasonic sound signals. The ultrasonic lens and electrodynamic transducer are situated so that the electrodynamic transducer axis and the sound port axes are aligned, whereby a shift in either the x or y axis direction will influence the ultrasound and audible behavior of the sound signal from the electrodynamic transducer.

The invention relates to a new membrane for a loudspeaker. The membrane comprises a central portion having a sound emitting surface and a back surface. The membrane further comprises a first edge directly adjacent to the central portion and surrounding the central portion. The membrane further comprises a second edge surrounding the first edge and an intermediate portion located between the first edge and the second edge, wherein the intermediate portion comprises at least one convex shaped section with regard to the sound emitting surface area of the central portion and at least one concave shaped section with regard to the sound emitting surface area of the central portion.
