The invention relates to a hardenable casting compound for producing molded plastic components, comprising a casting compound having a binder material composition and a filler material composition, wherein the filler material composition comprises at least one portion of granular mineral particles, wherein a filler material composition comprises a second portion of expandable microcells having less than 1.0 wt. %.

Hardenable casting compound for producing molded plastic components

In one aspect, the disclosed examples relate to a curable casting compound for producing plastics moulded parts. For example, the curable casting compound may include a binder component on the basis of a polymerisable monomer and a proportion of approximately 40% to approximately 85% by weight of one or more inorganic fillers. In one example, the casting compound includes an aluminosilicate as one of the inorganic fillers. Other examples are provided.

Curable casting compound for producing plastics moulded parts and use thereof

In order to produce a casting mass, in particular, for the production of kitchen sinks, molded sanitary articles and kitchen worktops which reduces the scrap rate linked to flaw characteristics during the production it is suggested that a casting mass be used which comprises a syrup based on an acrylate monomer as well as an inorganic filler material which constitutes a proportion of 45 to 85% by weight of-the casting mass, characterized in that the proportion of the filler material comprises a first and a second filler fraction, wherein the first filler fraction consists of filler particles with an unbroken grain shape and the second filler fraction of filler particles with a higher specific density than that of the first filler fraction, and that the weight proportion of the first filler fraction is greater than the weight proportion of the second filler fraction.

In order to provide a curable casting compound for producing plastic molded parts, comprising a binder component based on polymerizable monomers selected from methyl acrylate or methyl methacrylate and a proportion of about 40 to about 85% by weight of one or more inorganic fillers, which compound can be used for producing plastic molded parts having an increased impact strength, it is proposed that the casting compound comprise 0.1 to 0.5% by weight of keratin fibers.

In order to provide a curable casting compound by means of which plastic molded parts, having a structured surface and improved cleanability, can be produced, it is proposed that the casting compound comprises a binder material and a filler material, wherein the filler material is ca. 40 to ca. 85% by weight of the casting compound, and comprises two or more filler fractions, wherein a first filler fraction consists of solid granular mineral particles, and a second filler fraction consists of dimensionally stable hollow microspheres, and wherein the second filler fraction is ca. 1% by volume or more of the casting compound.

In order, in the case of a moulding composition for the production of sanitary-ware components, comprising a methyl-methacrylate-based syrup and from 50 to 85%, expressed in terms of the moulding composition, of an inorganic filler, to obtain an improvement in the scratch-proofness and the abrasion resistance of the shaped components which are obtained therefrom, it is proposed that the composition furthermore comprise elastomer particles or elastomer particle aggregates having a particle size &#x3c;100 &#x3bc;m in an amount in the range of 5% by weight to &#x3c;20% by weight, expressed in terms of the mass of the syrup.

Moulding compositions for the production of sanitary-ware components

In order to obtain curable molding compositions and shaped plastics articles produced therefrom which have an improved hot-pot resistance, it is proposed that a curable molding composition for the production of shaped plastics articles contains, in addition to a liquid monomeric acrylate component and a particulate inorganic material, the latter in a concentration ranging from 45 to 85 wt % and preferably from 55 to 75 wt %, based on the molding composition, an additional portion comprising a particulate hydrophobic and/or oleophobic plastics material in a concentration of 0.5 wt % or more.

Curable molding composition and shaped plastics articles produced from said molding composition

In order to provide a moulding composition which makes it possible to form shaped components having not only one but two or more visible sides, it is proposed that this composition comprise a methyl-methacrylate-based syrup and up to 85%, expressed in terms of the moulding composition, of an inorganic filler, and that the moulding composition comprise deformable, propellant-filled hollow microspheres having a plastic wall which is essentially insoluble in methyl methacrylate, the proportion by volume of the hollow microspheres to the total volume of the moulding composition being in the 5 to 50 vol. % range.
