An automatic powershift gearbox with at least one gearbox assembly for selecting the respective gear ratios and with at least one multiple-disk clutch capable of being actuated in a controlled manner for holding or releasing individual elements of the planet gear, which allows gear shift operations without interrupting the torque flow. The multiple-disk clutch comprises a first and a second disk set which are in mutual engagement and can be brought into friction engagement by axial compression against one another. The first disk set is connected with a first shaft, and the second disk set is connected with a second shaft. The multiple-disk clutch is coupled by a transmission with an electric machine comprising a rotor and a stator, for bringing the two disk sets into and out of friction engagement by means of the electric machine. The rotor of the electric machine is supported rotatably and axially movable on one of the shafts by means of a gearbox for converting a rotary motion into a thrust motion.

An electronically commutated DC machine, especially a DC motor, comprises a permanent magnet rotor providing a cylindrical air gap having a homogeneous magnetic field with straight, radially extending field lines and continuously alternating polarity. An iron-free stator means is formed like a self-supporting stator coil made of conductor material and cured synthetic resin comprises straight coil portions extending within the air gap. In order to provide machine, especially a motor, adapted for air cooling and providing a high current density, high-dynamic features and good overload capacity and further providing a behaviour essentially linear to the supplied current, the conductor material of each coil portion is consisting of one or several strand(s), wherein each strand comprises a number of thin filaments, being individually insulated, being arranged twisted within the strand and having a diameter equal or less than 0.4 mm. Said conductor material and liquid resin have been compacted in order to provide a stator coil comprising a content of conductor material of from 70 to 90% by volume.

A brushless electric motor has a fluid-tight housing, an internal rotor which is connected to an output shaft, stator plates which are disposed at a radial spacing from the rotor, a coolant delivery line leading into the interior of the housing, and a coolant discharge line leading out of the housing. A control arrangement, which as a function of the rotational speed and torque adjusts the volume flow of the coolant flowing through the interior of the housing, is provided to keep the efficiency of the arrangement as a whole high and to provide an electric motor having high power density.
