A device () and method for media filtration with a preparation container (). A chamber () containing a dissolvable medium () is situated between the container inflow and outflow, and has a filter (). A mixing arm (), connected to the inflow, protrudes into the medium in the chamber with at least one mixing nozzle (), disposed at the free end () of the mixing arm for generating a directed jet of solvent. The preparation container has bottom () and top () parts bracketing the chamber. The filter is a sterile, has on the filtrate side facing the outflow, a circumferential outer edge () resting on a circumferential rest edge () of the bottom part of the preparation container and is connected fixedly thereto. A sterilised filtrate space () is formed between the filtrate side () of the filter and the outflow situated in the bottom part.

A container has an outflow arranged in the vicinity of the bottom and a vortex breaker mounted upstream from the outflow for preventing foaming. The vortex breaker has a vertical main wall and two vertical side wings oriented away from one another to define a T-shape. The main wall merges into a fixing arm. A method also is provided for producing the vortex breaker. The method includes a) cutting a flat plate to define a main wall, two side wings, and a fixing arm connected to the main wall; and b) folding out the side wings in opposing directions in each case into a final position arranged transverse to the main wall. The vortex breaker is applicable in chemistry, biotechnology, and filtration technology.

The invention relates to closure, in particular for a nutrient medium container, wherein a lower part can be covered by an upper part, wherein the lower part and the upper part can be locked against each other by means of at least one locking receptacle and at least one locking part by rotating the lower part and the upper part about a longitudinal axis, and wherein the locking receptacle has a receptacle groove that is covered by a shoulder and that extends perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis, in which receptacle groove the locking part engages, wherein the shoulder has at least one ramp surface extending at an angle from the longitudinal axis on the outer face of the shoulder facing away from the receptacle groove.

Closure for a nutrient medium container

The invention relates to a transfer unit for receiving in particular a porous disc-shaped medium from a first treatment device, having an upper part, wherein the upper part comprises a fixing edge that can be connected to an edge of the medium for removing the medium from the first treatment device, wherein the upper part comprises an opening closed by a removable cover, by means of which successive treatments in a further treatment device can be performed. The invention further relates to a method wherein an upper part of a transfer unit is placed on a disc-shaped medium disposed in a first lower part of a first treatment device and exposed to the liquid sample and is connected to an edge of the medium, wherein the upper part is lifted off from the first lower part with the disc-shaped medium connected thereto, and is placed on a further lower part of a corresponding treatment device, and is further processed through an opening in the upper part.

There is disclosed a filter package comprising a housing and a cover that is adapted to enclose a sterile disposable filter wherein the package cover is penetrable at a point axially aligned with the filter and has at least one pre-formed break line along which the package cover, when subjected to appropriate force, ruptures so as to permit withdrawal of the filter by a syringe coupled thereto.

A dispenser is disclosed that is particularly suitable for dispensing packaged items such as bandages or membrane filters. The dispenser is provided with a magazine for holding the items, with a distribution assembly for exposure and distribution of the items, an ejector operable in advance/feed and disposal modes, and with a separating assembly for separation of the item from its packaging.
