The disclosure is based on a method for the adaptive rapid charging of a battery pack, in particular of an interchangeable battery pack for electric machine tools, by way of a battery charger, wherein, in at least one method step, at least one charging parameter of the battery charger is adjusted depending on at least one parameter of the battery pack. It is proposed, in at least one method step, for the at least one charging parameter to be adjusted depending on at least one charging characteristic diagram that is typical for the battery, is stored in a storage unit of the battery pack and contains at least predefined values of a voltage, temperature and/or current suitable for a charging procedure for the battery pack.

Method for the adaptive rapid charging of a battery pack

The disclosure relates to a method for adaptively fast-charging a battery pack using a battery charging device. At least one voltage and the temperature of the battery pack are continuously or periodically detected by means of a detection unit. A charging current of the battery charging device is adapted by means of a control and/or regulating unit of the battery charging device on the basis of the detected voltage and/or the detected temperature of the battery pack. At least one battery-specific threshold of the voltage and/or the temperature is taken into consideration in order to adapt the charging current by means of the control and/or regulating unit. Prior to starting the charging process, the battery-specific threshold of the voltage and/or the temperature is transmitted from a memory unit of the battery pack and/or the battery charging device to the control and/or regulating unit by means of a communication unit.

Method for adaptively fast-charging a battery pack using stored limit values

A method for estimating the state of health of an exchangeable rechargeable battery. The method includes: i. determining a remaining capacity of the battery during a charging operation, in such a manner, that a first charging value is ascertained by measuring an open-circuit voltage, as long as no charging current or only a minimal charging current is flowing; at least one further charging value is ascertained by measuring the charging current in specific time intervals, until the charging operation is completed; and a sum of the ascertained charging values is calculated; ii. determining a remaining performance of the battery during the charging operation in such a manner, that after a predefined battery voltage is reached, the charging current is briefly changed, and the respective battery voltage is measured; and an impedance of the battery is calculated from the quotient of the difference of the measured charging currents and battery voltages.
