A rail vehicle includes an electric drive including a housing and power semiconductors arranged in the housing, and a braking system configured for operation with compressed air. The housing and the braking system are interconnected such as to enable supply of compressed air from the braking system to an interior of the housing. A depressurization device is arranged between the housing and the braking system such as to enable compressed air which is supplied to the housing to be depressurized prior to being supplied to the interior of the housing.

Rail vehicle

Compressed air supplied into a housing is expanded for reducing air humidity in the housing in response to the expansion of the compressed air. As a result, it is possible in a simple manner for a component to be operated in a dry environment. The component can be dried and condensation on the component can be prevented.

Method for reducing the air humidity in a housing

A method is disclosed for braking electrically driven vehicles, in particular rail vehicles. In at least one embodiment, the behavior of the brake system is configured directly as a function of the system state, i.e. the operating conditions of the vehicle, such as for example the laden state of the vehicle, temperature of the engines and in particular of the magnets, as well as redundancy requirements, and therefore permit the fully functioning mechanical brake which is present in vehicles nowadays to be eliminated. The method of at least one embodiment for braking electrically driven vehicles which are equipped with spring-store-based friction brakes and whose motive drive is provided by way of permanently excited synchronous machines whose terminals are connected via switches to devices which generate a braking torque includes an open-loop or closed-loop controller being activated and the controller connecting the brake system of the engines which are present and the spring-store-based friction brakes into the circuit individually and successively as a function of the operating conditions of the vehicle and the required brake values.

Method for braking electrically driven vehicles

Energy storage modules generally include a housing with component parts arranged therein. The component parts are in this case either capacitors, for example double-layer capacitors and/or electrolyte capacitors. According to the invention, a filler is provided in the housing and binds electrolyte liquid occurring in the even of damage or else electrolyte gases. Beds of material with a large specific surface area, such as zeolites or else active carbons, are suitable as fillers. The surfaces are also possibly catalytically coated.

Energy storage module

A circuit arrangement with a voltage link converter includes a link capacitor and circuit branches arranged parallel thereto. The circuit branches each include circuit elements, connected in series. A short circuit thyristor is provided to protect against short circuit currents. A short circuit protection arrangement is provided for connection to the link circuit capacitor and the circuit branches. The above includes a parallel connection of the short circuit thyristors with opposed conducting pairs of protective diodes connected in series. The short circuit protection arrangement is connected parallel to the link circuit capacitor and each connection point between two circuit elements of a circuit branch which are connected in series, is connected to a connection point between two protection diodes of the short circuit protection arrangement which are connected in series.

Circuit arrangement with a voltage link converter

A low-inductance bus bar arrangement includes at least n+1 individual bus bars for establishing a quick connection of modular components of n dependent circuits. The n+1 individual bus bars are stacked upon each other and are electrically separated from each other by insulation. The two outermost bus bars are electrically connected to each other by an appropriate connecting device. While the several modular components of the n dependent circuits are quickly connectable to the bus bar, the bus bar itself provides an inherently low inductance.
