A wet-dry vacuum device assembly comprises a housing and a motor-fan assembly mounted in the housing. The motor-fan assembly is arranged to generate an air flow along an airflow path between a dirty air inlet and a clean air exhaust. The wet-dry vacuum device comprises a tank positioned along the airflow path and arranged to capture liquid entrained in the dirty air flow. The wet-dry vacuum device further comprises a removable pump accessory mountable to the housing. The removable pump accessory comprises pump and a fluid inlet in fluid communication with the tank and the pump. A fluid outlet is in fluid communication with the pump and connectable to an exterior hose. The pump is arranged to move captured liquid in the tank from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet.

Water management system

A pavement breaker has a housing, a hammer mechanism mounted within the housing, and at least one handle moveably mounted on the housing. The handle(s) can move in a vertical direction when the pavement breaker is orientated in its normal operation orientation. A sensor is mounted within the housing for detecting when the handle(s) is moved towards or at its uppermost position. If the sensor detects such handle position, the hammer mechanism is deactivated.

A collar system for a dust extractor is provided including: a collar including a drill passage extending through the collar and an extension forming an internal passage that connects at one end with the drill passage, the extension being attachable to a housing of the dust extractor to enable the internal passage to connect to a suction passage of the dust extractor; and a cover mounted adjacent an entrance of the drill passage, the cover being moveable between a first position where it covers the entrance and a second position where is remote from the entrance, wherein the cover comprises at least hole that passes through the cover.

Collar system for a dust extractor

A side handle for a power tool includes a base, a grip with an elongated tubular inner section having a first end and a second end, an outer sleeve which surrounds at least part of the inner section. The outer sleeve is connected to the inner section at the first end via a connecting section. The connecting section is resiliently deformable to allow pivotal movement of the outer sleeve relative to the inner section. Damping masses can be attached to the inner section and/or outer sleeve.

Side handle

A power tool comprising: a housing; a handle having two ends, the first being moveably mounted to the housing via a first mounting assembly, the second being moveably mounted to the housing via a second mounting assembly; a biasing mechanism connected between the housing and handle; wherein at least one of the mounting assemblies comprises first and second parts, one being mounted on the housing and the other mounted on the one end of the handle, the first part comprising a passageway, the second comprising a mount and a rod, the rod having a first end and a shaft with a longitudinal axis, the first end being attached to the mount using a bayonet connection, the shaft being located in and capable of axially sliding within the passageway to enable the end of the handle to move towards or away from the housing.

Rear handle

A power tool includes a housing and a handle having two ends moveably mounted to the housing via respective mountings, at least one mounting comprising a passageway formed in one end of the handle and a rod attached at one end to the housing. The rod's shaft axially slides within the passageway, enabling the handle end to move relative to the housing. A cavity within the handle end adjacent the passageway receives the rod, which has a second end within the cavity. A flange mounted adjacent the rod's other end within the cavity, unable to pass through the passageway, moves within the cavity relative to the passageway as the handle's end moves relative to the housing. A biasing mechanism within the cavity, between an internal wall of the cavity and the second end of the rod, biases the flange towards the passageway, and the handle end away from the housing.

A power tool includes a housing; a handle having two ends, each being moveably mounted to the housing associated mountings; and a biasing mechanism connected between the housing and the handle; wherein at least one of the mountings comprises: a first part mounted on the housing and a second part mounted on the one end of the handle, one part comprising a passageway, the other comprising a rod, having a longitudinal axis, which is located in and capable of being axially slid within the passageway, enabling the end of the handle to move towards or away from the housing; at least part of the wall of the passageway in a lengthwise direction of the passageway comprises a curved convex support surface capable of engaging the side of the rod to enable the rod to pivot within the passageway about an axis which is perpendicular to the axis of the rod.

A tool includes a housing; a handle having first and second ends mounted thereto via respective mountings, and a biasing mechanism connected between the housing and handle. At least one mounting comprises parts mounted on the housing and end of the handle respectively, one part comprising a support, the other comprising a pin having a longitudinal axis, located in the support and capable of moving linearly or being rotated therein so the handle may move accordingly. The pin is in a passage of the support having larger length than width, allowing free movement either rotationally about its axis or linearly along the length for rotational or linear movement of the end of the handle. The width size varies along the passage, providing a convex surface along at least part of the length, engageable by the pin's side to enable pivoting within the passage about an axis parallel to the length.

A hammer mechanism including: a motor; a piston reciprocatingly driven by the motor; a ram reciprocatingly driven by the reciprocating piston via an air spring; a beat piece supported in an axially slideable manner within a beat piece support structure which, during the normal operation of the hammer mechanism, is repetitively struck by the ram and which transfers the impacts to a cutting tool when held by the tool holder; wherein the beat piece comprises a first impact surface and the beat piece support structure including a second impact surface, the first and second impact surfaces coming into contact with each other when the beat piece axially slides to its furthest position away from the ram; and wherein the shape of the two surfaces relative to each other is arranged so that there is a non-uniform amount of contact between the first and second surfaces around the longitudinal axis.

Hammer

A handle assembly for a power tool is disclosed. The handle assembly includes a base adapted to be mounted to a body of a power tool, and a handle having first and second mounting portions pivotably mounted to respective ends of the base. An elongate torsion spring has a first part mounted to the base and a respective second part mounted to each mounting portion such that pivoting of the handle relative to the base member causes twisting of the torsion member to resiliently oppose pivoting of the handle relative to the base portion.

Handle assembly for power tool

A hammer-drill including a body in which is mounted a motor and a hammer mechanism which is driven by the motor; a tool holder mounted on the front of the body and which is capable of holding a cutting tool, the hammer mechanism being capable of imparting impacts to the cutting tool, when held by the tool holder; a rear handle, moveably mounted onto the rear of the body via at least one movement control mechanism and which is capable of moving towards or away from the body; a biasing mechanism which biases the rear handle away from the body.

Hammer drill

A power tool, including a housing and a handle having two ends. The first end of the handle being moveably mounted to the housing via a first mounting assembly and the second end being moveably mounted to the housing via a second mounting assembly. One part of the first mounting assembly including a sleeve and the other part including a rod mounted in an axially slideable manner in the sleeve. A biasing mechanism connected between the two parts. One part of the second mounting assembly including a support and the other part including a pin located in the support which is capable of being rotated in the support to enable the second end of the handle to rotate relative to the housing and to move linearly in the support to enable the second end of the handle to move linearly relative to the housing.

A motorized hammer has a body and a tool holder which is mounted on the front of the body and is capable of imparting impacts via the tool in the holder. A rear handle is, moveably mounted to the rear of the body via at least one movement control mechanism which is capable of moving towards or away from the body. A biasing mechanism biases the rear handle away from the body and each movement control mechanism includes a first mount. A rod having a longitudinal axis is rigidly connected at one of it ends to the first mount. A second mount slidingly engages with the rod at two distinct points only along its length to allow the rod to slide relative to the second mount in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis. The second mount prevents the rod from moving in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.

Vibration reduction handle assembly for a hammer drill

A powered hammer includes a housing, a tool holder coupled to the housing and configured to hold a tool, a motor within the housing, a cylinder disposed within the housing, and a piston slideably mounted within the cylinder. A drive mechanism converts rotary output of the motor into a reciprocating motion of the piston. The drive mechanism includes a crank shaft rotationally driven by the motor, a drive pin eccentrically mounted on the crank shaft, and a con rod with a first end connected to the drive pin and a second end connected to the piston. A ram is slideably mounted forward of the piston that is reciprocatingly driven by the piston. A beat piece is slideably mounted forward of the ram. The beat piece is repetitively struck by the reciprocating ram, which in turn repetitively strikes an end of the tool when held in the tool holder to transfer the momentum of the ram to the tool. Lubrication fluid covers at least part of the drive mechanism. A rear piston chamber is formed within an end of the cylinder, rearward of the piston, the volume of which repetitively changes as the piston moves within the cylinder, causing air within the housing to be at least one of drawn into and blown out of the rear piston chamber. The movement of air causes the lubrication fluid to move within the housing. A longitudinal passageway defined in at least one of the crank shaft and the drive pin enables passage of air and the lubricating fluid to assist in movement of the lubrication fluid within the housing.

Lubricant system for powered hammer

A powered hammer includes a housing, a tool holder coupled to the housing and configured to hold a tool, a motor within the housing, and a piston slideably mounted within the housing. A drive mechanism converts rotary output of the motor into a reciprocating motion of the piston. A ram is slideably mounted within the housing, forward of the piston, and is reciprocatingly driven by the piston. A beat piece is slideably mounted forward of the ram. The beat piece is repetitively struck by the reciprocating ram, which in turn repetitively strikes an end of the tool when held in the tool holder to transfer the momentum of the ram to the tool. A vibration dampener is coupled to the housing and is configured to remove metal splinters from lubricating fluid in the housing while counteracting vibration generated by movement of at least one of the piston, the ram, and the beat piece.
