The invention relates to an axial thread rolling head, comprising a head part, in which at least three thread rolls are rotatably mounted, wherein the thread rolls among themselves border an insertion section for a workpiece and wherein the thread rolls each have a profile for forming an outer thread on the workpiece, wherein the thread rolls are held non-adjustably in the radial direction in the head part, wherein the profile of the thread rolls is respectively designed asymmetrically such that the thread rolls with their asymmetrical profile form a symmetrical external thread on the workpiece. The invention also relates to a corresponding method.

An axial thread-rolling head comprising a shank and a bearing unit held by said shank and having the profiled rolling dies wherein said shank has an elongate gripping portion, a first clutch portion, a supporting portion for the bearing unit, and a driver portion for a central toothed gear of said bearing unit and said bearing unit has a second clutch portion which is in engagement with said first clutch portion when said bearing unit and said shank are in a coupled position because of a spring bias, and is out of engagement when said bearing unit and said shank are axially moved apart, against said spring bias, to a separating position, which allows said bearing unit to perform a relative rotation on said shank, wherein said gripping portion and said clutch portion, on one hand, and said supporting portion and said driver portion, on the other hand, define separate components which are axially fixed and fixed for rotation via connecting portions, but are adapted to be releasably connected to each other.

Axial thread-rolling head

A tangential thread-rolling head comprising two fork-shaped rolling head arms in which thread-rolling dies are rotatably supported by means of parallel axles wherein the thread-rolling dies are in a lateral engagement with a pinion seated on the axles of a gearing coupling both thread-rolling dies and the thread-rolling dies and pinions have lateral jaws such that the jaws of the thread-rolling dies can be pushed into the jaws of the pinions laterally before the axles are mounted wherein the axles have disposed thereon an axially slidable bushing which is adapted to firmly be positioned axially against the pinion with the aid of locating means, wherein each bushing circumferentially has a fine pitch threaded portion which interengages with a female-threaded portion in a seating bore for the pinion and bushing and locking means are provided in the rolling head arms to lock the bushing in an occupied rotational position.

Tangential thread-rolling head

A surface milling or angular milling cutter, comprising a carrier body which circumferentially, at uniformly or non-uniformly spread spacings, has disposed pockets which extend in parallel with the axis of rotation of the carrier body for the accommodation of cassettes which, in turn, have seating surfaces for the accommodation of tool tips, a mounting device for the tool tips in the cassette, a bolt mounting to locate the cassettes in the pockets, and an adjusting pin for each cassette for a limited axial displacement of the cassettes in two directions in the pockets, characterized in that the radially outer portion of the cassette is divided by a gap extending approximately in the radial plane, and the gap receives a setting wedge the position of which can be adjusted by means of an adjusting screw in the gap.

Surface milling or angular milling cutter

An axial thread rolling head comprising a bearing unit including rolling dies supported via eccentric shafts, a shank which is axially movable with respect to the bearing unit and has a clutch portion which interacts with a claw clutch portion of a spring housing rotatably supported on the shank in a first axial relative postion and which couples the two components in a torsion-resistant manner, and a first gearing between the shank and the eccentric shafts for varying the mutual spacing of the rolling dies, a spiral-coiled spring between the shank and the bearing unit and mechanical switching means to move the shank and the bearing unit into the second relative position when in contact with a workpiece, wherein at least the bearing unit and the spring housing are formed from titanium or a titanium alloy.

Tread rolling head

A tangential rolling head with a basic body including means for loading it in a machine tool, two two-armed levers pivotally supported about a common axis of the basic body one lever arm of which is traversed by a formed-type roll and the other lever arm of which is traversed by a spindle which has a circumferential annular groove, a sheet metal element which has a forked portion and a fastening portion wherein the forked portion engages the annular groove and the fastening portion is adapted to be fastened in a recess of the basic body by means of a pin, characterized in that the sheet metal element is rigidly formed and is supported in the recess on the two sides by means of disc springs slid onto the pin.

Tangential rolling head

A roll for a radial thread-forming head which has disposed at its circumference a thread-forming profile with a flattened area, a thread entry portion, a thread calibrating portion, and a thread exit portion, characterized in that an annular, continuous groove portion is formed in the longitudinal half of the roll in a radial plane at the circumference, except for the flattened area, and a thread-forming profile is formed in the two sides of the groove portion wherein the pitches of the thread-forming profiles are opposed and the positions of the flattened areas are coincident.

Roll for a radial thread-rolling head

The invention relates to a tangential thread rolling head with two fork-shaped rolling head arms in which thread rollers are rotatably mounted by way of parallel axles. The thread rollers are in engagement with a pinion, sitting on the axles, of a gear coupling both thread rollers, and the thread rollers and pinion are formed such that the rollers are laterally insertable before installing the axles. There is also a rolling head holder on which the rolling head arms are pivotably mountable about a common axle running parallel to the roller axles, threaded means for adjusting the distance of the thread roller axles from one another and adjusting means for the pivotal position of the rolling head to the rolling head holder. Cooperating claws of the thread roller and pinion are formed such that the roller may only be laterally inserted in a single defined rotational position.
