Coating system and associated operating method

A coating system for coating components, e.g., for paining motor vehicle body components, is provided. The system includes a coating booth, a conveying system, an application system, a process technology system, a safety system, and a robot system. The robot system includes at least one multi-axis coating robot for guiding the application device and a control unit. The control unit also controls the conveying system, the application system, the safety system and/or the process technology system.

Centrally controlled coating system for painting motor vehicle body components

A conveying apparatus () moves a transport unit () having at least one running section (). The running section () can, in particular, be configured as a runner of a skid. The conveying apparatus () has a support () which takes up the weight of the transport unit () on the running section (). The conveying apparatus () includes at least one drive roller () which interacts with the running section () of the transport unit () for a rolling movement and subjects the transport unit () to a force (F) for movement along the support (). The drive roller () is operatively connected to a force-generating device () for providing a press-on force (F) pressing the drive roller () against the running section () of the transport unit ().
