The invention relates to an injector for injecting fuel into a combustion chamber. The injector comprises at least one spray orifice with an inlet opening and an outlet opening. The spray orifice has a device for specifically producing cavitation at the outlet opening in order to remove deposits from the outlet opening that are produced during operation.

Fuel injection valve for an internal combustion engine

In a nozzle body, a degree of rounding of edges of an entry region of an injection hole duct in the nozzle body is dependent on a distribution of a fuel stream around the entry region. The edges being more rounded, the greater the fuel stream at the respective edge portion is. The entry region of the injection hole duct has, in this case, preferably the form of an ellipse.
