An intercooler assembly may include a housing and a cooler arranged therein through which charge air may be flowable. The housing may include an insertion opening through which the cooler may be insertable into the housing in an insertion direction transverse to the flow direction of the charge air. The cooler may include a pipe structure through which a coolant may be flowable, first and second end parts opposite each other transverse to the insertion direction, and third and fourth end parts opposite each other transverse to the first and second end parts and parallel to the flow direction, the end parts laterally delimiting and mechanically connected to the pipe structure. The cooler may be mechanically connected to the housing by the first end part, and at least one of the other end parts may be movably attached to the housing. The cooler may be pre-stressed against the housing by the third and/or fourth end part in a direction opposite a deformation of the cooler resulting from cooling of the charge air.

Intercooler assembly

A heat accumulator for use in a motor vehicle having a heat accumulator container which can be integrated into the motor oil circuit, through which motor oil flows when the motor is running, and which is disconnected from the circuit when the motor is switched off. The oil pan of the motor, in particular the lower part of the oil pan, is provided as the heat accumulator container, and the oil pan is provided with heat-insulating container walls. Also, an element for increasing the heat capacity of the heat accumulator is provided.

Heat accumulator

A heat exchanger assembly may include an intercooler and a housing which encloses said intercooler. The housing may be part of a charge air line. The housing may include a charge air inlet, a charge air outlet and an opening through which the intercooler can be inserted into the housing from one side. The housing may also include a recess on the side opposite the opening, into which recess the intercooler engages. The heat exchanger assembly may include an elastic seal arranged in the region of the recess between the intercooler and the housing. The seal may be configured to at least one of bridge the deformation of the housing occurring during pressure pulsations, bridge relative movements between the intercooler and the housing, and tightly connect the intercooler to the housing in all operating states preventing an undesirable bypass flow.

Heat exchanger assembly

A heat exchanger for transferring heat between a gaseous first fluid and a liquid second fluid may include a plurality of hollow pipes extending transversely through a first fluid path for conducting the first fluid. The plurality of pipes may be coupled externally to a plurality of cooling fins arranged in the first fluid path. The plurality of pipes may internally define a second fluid path for conducting the second fluid. The plurality of pipes and the plurality of cooling fins may be arranged stacked on one another in a stacking direction to define a cooler block. The cooler block may include two side parts extending along two outer sides of the cooler block facing away from one another in the stacking direction. At least one tension rod may fixedly connect the two side parts and be configured to transmit a tensile force in the stacking direction.

Heat exchanger

A heat exchanger for cooling of charge air for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle is provided. The heat exchanger has a preliminary stage, a main stage, and a compensating component. The preliminary stage has at least one preliminary stage fixed bearing base and a preliminary stage floating bearing base. The main stage has at least one main stage fixed bearing base and a main stage floating bearing base. In a heat transfer region of the main stage, at least one main stage channel for a main stage coolant is disposed. The compensating component is configured to compensate a position difference between corresponding components of the preliminary stage and the main stage, whereby the position difference is based on a thermally induced elongation difference between the at least one preliminary stage channel and the at least one main stage channel.

Heat exchanger for cooling charge air

The present invention relates to a device for cooling charge air for an internal combustion engine of a vehicle. The device comprises a plurality of first coolant pipes for conducting a first coolant and a plurality of second coolant pipes for conducting a second coolant, wherein the first coolant pipes and the second coolant pipes extend in a longitudinal extension direction of the device and the plurality of first coolant pipes is arranged adjacent to the plurality of second coolant pipes in a transverse extension direction of the device.

Device for cooling charge air, system for conditioning charge air, and intake module for an internal combustion engine

A method for producing an intake module may include providing a housing and at least one intercooler arranged therein; forming at least two housing parts via injection molding from plastic; inserting at least one intercooler into at least one of the housing parts; wherein the housing parts, with at least one intercooler inserted therein, are welded together to form the housing; and wherein the intercooler has contact points to at least two of the housing parts.

Component and associated production method

The invention relates to an intake pipe for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, comprising a housing that defines a charge-air channel and an intercooler having a cooler block, which is arranged in the housing in such a way that the charge air can flow through the cooler block. The cooler block of the intercooler terminates on a side facing the housing with an outer component, preferably a cooling fin, and at least one recess is formed in said outer component of the cooler block, the at least one recess extending at least across part of the length of the cooler block substantially perpendicularly to the charge-air flow direction. Furthermore, at least one projection is provided on an inside face of the housing facing the cooler block of the intercooler, said projection extending at least across part of the inner face of the housing substantially perpendicularly to the charge-air flow direction and engaging at least partially in the at least one recess of the cooler block in a sealing manner.

Intake pipe having an integrated intercooler

A multi-layered brazing sheet with improved long life corrosion resistance achieved by balancing the Zn, Cu, Mn, Si and Mg content of the core and interliner alloy. The brazing sheet has a core of a 3xxx alloy, an inner braze cladding of a 4xxx alloy, and between core and inner braze cladding an interliner of a 3xxx alloy. The 3xxx alloy of the core has 0.55-1.0 wt % Cu, 0.7-1.8 wt % Mn, &#x3c;0.3 wt % Mg, &#x3c;0.4 wt % Zn. The 3xxx alloy of the interliner has &#x3c;0.25 wt % Cu, 0.5-1.5 wt % Mn, &#x3c;0.3 wt % Mg, 0.1-5.0 wt % Zn. A 1xxx or 7xxx alloy could be used for the interliner instead of the 3xxx alloy.
