A method for recognizing the presence of liquid () in a gas flow flowing in a pipeline uses an ultrasound flowmeter (). Measurement paths are provided in pairs which are displaced vertically by an equal predefined distance with respect to the center axis such that one lies in an upper region above the center axis and one lies beneath the center axis. A check is made in three stages to define various measurement values, turbulence values and speed of sound values. A liquid warning signal is output when an invalid measurement value is delivered in the first stage, or when the ratio of the turbulence values in the second stage differs from 1 by more than a predefined tolerance value, or when the ratio of the speeds of sound in the third stage differs from 1 by more than a predefined tolerance ratio.

Method for recognizing the presence of liquid in a gas flow

The invention relates to a flow measuring device for measuring a parameter of a flow formed from a fluid which flows in a main direction of flow in a line, comprising a first line section for conducting the fluid out of the main direction of flow; a second line section for conducting the fluid back into the main direction of flow; a line connection section for connecting the first line section to the second line section; at least one ultrasound device for transmitting and/or receiving ultrasound waves; and an evaluation unit for carrying out a transit-time difference measurement and for determining the parameter, wherein at least one swirl generating unit for generating a swirl is provided which is arranged downstream of the first line section such that the generated swirl is directed in a direction which is opposite to a direction of a swirl present downstream of the first line section and upstream of the swirl generation unit.

Flow measuring device for measuring a parameter of a flow formed from a fluid

A flow meter, such as a gas meter, for measuring the flow velocity and/or the volumetric through-flow of fluids. The flow meter has a body with connecting flanges for connecting the meter to a pipeline for the fluids. The meter has a tubular center piece that, on its exterior, has at least two receptacles, each of which receives a measuring device. The measuring devices are coupled to a signal processing unit. Electrical cabling between the measuring devices (probes) and the signal processing unit is completely covered against damage from the exterior by partially guiding the cables through bores in walls of the center piece of the flow meter and by covering portions of the cable and protruding sections of the probes with a cap.

Apparatus for measuring the flow velocity and/or flow throughput of fluids

A body for a flow meter for measuring the flow velocity and/or the volumetric through-flow of fluids. The flow meter body has a tubular center piece with connecting flanges for connection to a pipeline for fluids. On its exterior, the center piece has at least two substantially flat mounting surfaces (), each of which has at least one receptacle () for mounting a probe (). To enable the use of linearly emitting ultrasound probes in such flow meters, and to use the flow meter as a substitute for prior art flow meters without significant effort and cost, it is proposed to arrange the mounting surfaces (andand) diametrically opposite each other as a mounting surface pair () so that the probes () in the opposing mounting surfaces (andand) define a measuring path (). The mounting surfaces (andand) are parallel to each other and at an angle to a longitudinal axis () of center piece ().
