A kit for the production of an antimicrobial foam includes: a) a liquid composition which includes a1)one or more bispyridinium alkane and a2)one or more surfactants selected from non-ionic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants and cation-active surfactants, wherein the composition is formulated so that a foam can be produced therefrom, and b) a device for producing the foam from the composition. By using the bispyridinium alkanes the foam stability of liquid and surfactant-containing compositions is increased.

Kit for producing foams containing bispyridinium alkane

The non-solid disinfectant preparation includes a) bispyridiniumalkane (in particular octenidine) and b) dye selected from xanthene dyes, azo dyes and polyterpene compounds. The preparation is free from fluorescein and salts thereof. The novel preparations exhibit an excellent remanence effect.

Coloured disinfectant preparation based on bispyridiniumalkane

The invention relates to an antimicrobially effective composition which comprises a) 0.001 to 1% by weight of bispyridiniumalkane, b) humectant and c) water. The composition has an osmolality of from 230 to 350 mOsmol/kg and is free from surfactant. It is used as wound and mucosa antiseptic.

A container has: a) a collapsible receptacle, the wall of which is designed flexibly such that the internal volume of the receptacle is adapted to the volume of a liquid contained therein, and which has an outlet with an outlet valve; and b) in the receptacle a disinfectant composition in the form of a solution with a content of aliphatic alcohol of at most 20% by weight. It is possible that the disinfectant composition is not contaminated with spores or other germs also after the container has been opened, even upon repeated discharge from the container.

An aqueous-based composition which includes a) at least one bispyridinium alkane (for example octenidine) and b) at least one stabilizer selected from antioxidants, complexing agents, reducing agents, UV filters and photoprotective agents, in particular &#x3b1;-tocopherol, and BHT. The composition can also include c) one or more auxiliaries selected from, for example, nonionic surfactants, ethers, solvents and polymers, in particular fatty alcohol alkoxylates and alkoxylated fatty acid monoglycerides. The presence of the stabilizer reduces or prevents the appearance of decomposition products of bispyridinium alkanes and, in the case of the presence of auxiliaries, of decomposition products of the auxiliaries, such as ethers and peroxides.

Stabilized, antimicrobially effective composition with a content of bispyridinium alkane

An antimicrobially effective composition includes a) at least 0.15% by weight of bispyridinium alkane, b) at least 3.5% by weight of humectant and c) water. Upon dilution with water, the composition produces a solution with an osmolality of from 230 to 350 mOsmol/kg and is free from surfactant. It is used as an antiseptic and is suitable for use in a method for the disinfection of injured or uninjured skin of a human being or animal, preference being given to use in the case of newborns, in particular those born prematurely.

Antiseptic based on bispyridinium alkanes

A description is given according to the invention of a composition on an aqueous basis which comprises a) 0.001 to 10% by weight bispyridinium alkane, b) 0.1 to 30% by weight nonionic surfactant, c) 0 to 40% by weight aromatic alcohol and d) 0.01 to 10% by weight polyol selected from alkanediols and alkanetriols. The compositions, as mouthwash solutions, are more active than current commercial products and are distinguished by a pleasant taste and low tendency to foaming.

Antimicrobially active composition having a content of bispyridium alkane (octenidine dihydrochloride)

The invention relates to the use of octenidine dihydrochloride for manufacturing a semisolid pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of wounds, atopic dermatitides, infected eczemas, dermatomycoses, vaginal infections, acne, herpes and/or for controlling multidrug-resistant pathogens, where the composition comprises from 0.005 to 5% by weight octenidine dihydrochloride, and a corresponding composition.

Use of octenidine dihydrochloride in semisolid preparations

The invention relates to an alkaline disinfecting and cleaning composition which comprises one or more selected quaternary ammonium salts, one or more selected alcohol alkoxylates and one or more alkylamines. By exact choice of the components a composition is provided which can be formulated as concentrate and, as dilute aqueous ready-to-use solution, has good cleaning efficiency combined with good microbicidal activity.
