A method, a medium, and a system for distributing a warehouse task from a warehouse management hub to a programmable logic controller comprise receiving at least one warehouse task at a warehouse management hub including attributes for physically transferring at least one product into a warehouse, out of the warehouse or within the warehouse, determining, by the warehouse management hub and based on the attributes of the warehouse task, one of a plurality of warehouse management devices for processing the warehouse task, sending, by the warehouse management hub, the warehouse task to the determined warehouse management device, identifying, by the determined warehouse management device and based on the attributes of the warehouse task, a first one of a plurality of programmable logic controllers, and sending, by the determined warehouse management device, a message including information for carrying out the warehouse task to the identified programmable logic controllers.

Distributing a warehouse task from a warehouse management hub to a programmable logic controller in a distributed warehouse system

A system and process that manages access to a resource in an enterprise service-oriented architecture environment. The system recognizes a master for each resource that has ultimate control over the respective resource. The master grants access to the resource though a lock system. If a system does not relinquish access to the resource, then the master is able to reclaim the lock to ensure the continued availability of the resource to all systems. This system ensures data coherency, while also improving performance by diminishing the amount of time a resource is unnecessarily locked and the time to obtain a lock.

A time slot of regular time length and capacity is defined in time local to a time zone. The slot is defined by a local time start timestamp and a local time end timestamp. In one aspect, upon determining that the local time end timestamp of the slot overlaps with the transition period, the time slot is prolonged beyond the transition period. The prolonged time slot is correspondingly defined by an international standard time start timestamp and an international standard time end timestamp. The prolonged time slot is generated based on the international standard time start timestamp and the international standard time end timestamp.

A system and method for concurrency management in an environment, in which a common pool of objects is shared by multiple users. A virtual lock owner is created for a main thread of a processing task. The main thread spawns parallel threads to update the objects in the common pool with locks. The virtual lock owner is passed to each parallel thread. Each thread (including the main thread) is associated with a thread dependent lock indicator identified by the virtual lock owner. The lifetime of the thread dependent lock indicator is coupled with the lifetime of the associated thread. The virtual lock owner is also associated with a thread independent lock indicator that has a lifetime independent of the lifetime of the main thread. Thus, the parallel threads can perform object update with lock protection even if the main thread aborts.

Concurrency management in cluster computing of business applications

A system and method of updating persistent objects in a persistent store. In response to receipt of a confirmation of task competition, an attempt is made to acquire a lock for corresponding item data in the persistent store. Regardless of whether the lock is acquired, a successful update of the persistent store is acknowledged to the sender of the confirmation within a defined time period.
