A manufacturing method for an electromechanical drive element comprises providing (S) of an excitation body comprising at least one volume of electromechanical material. The excitation body has a metal plate integrated as a surface of the excitation body. The excitation body being arranged to cause shape changes of the electromechanical material and the metal plate when the volume(s) of electromechanical material being excited by a voltage signal. A composite drive pad is provided (S). The composite drive pad comprises a metal portion directly joined to a ceramic portion. After the providing of a composite drive pad, the metal portion of the composite drive pad is irreversibly attached (S) to the metal plate of the excitation body by use of a metal-based bond. An electromechanical drive element and an electromechanical motor using such an electromechanical drive element are also disclosed.

Electromechanical actuators with composite drive pads

An electromechanical motor () comprises a stator () and a translator (). The stator has two electromechanical actuators () having electromechanically active material () and means () for providing exciting signals. The translator is arranged between, and in driving contact with, driving portions () of the electromechanical actuators. The stator has a spring element () arranged for holding the driving portions against the translator. The electromechanical actuators are arranged for providing a vibration, which gives rise to a driving action, directed in a driving direction (X) perpendicular to the direction of the normal force, against the surface of the translator. The electromechanical motor further comprises a guiding means () having a circular hole (). The translator has a cylindrically shaped guidance part () arranged at least partly in the circular hole. A tunable high-frequency filter comprising such a motor is also disclosed.

An electromechanical stator includes an actuator section, a support section and a spring section. A continuous sheet of elastic material constitutes at least a part of each of these sections. The actuator section includes a vibration body and a moved-body interaction portion. The vibration body includes an electromechanical volume. The spring section is elastic, with a spring constant, enabling provision of a normal force in the vibration direction upon displacement of the fixation point. Also an electromechanical motor and a method of operating such an electromechanical motor are disclosed.

Electromechanical stator, motor and method for driving an electromechanical motor

An ultrasonic electromechanical stator includes two vibration bodies, a link member connecting the two vibration bodies along a connection direction and a stator support. Each of the vibration bodies includes a respective electromechanical element and is configured to perform bending vibrations in a bending direction when an alternating voltage is applied to the electromechanical elements. The link member has a contact portion intended for contacting a surface of a body to be moved. The link member has a respective mechanical link connecting portion to the vibrating bodies. Each of the vibration bodies is mechanically attached to the stator support by at least two attachment tabs on at least one side, in a direction transverse to both the connection direction and the bending direction, of the respective vibration bodies. Also an ultrasonic electromechanical motor having such an ultrasonic electromechanical stator is disclosed.

Ultrasonic resonating motor

In manufacturing electromechanical drive elements, vibration properties are defined in a test environment. These properties are found to give a good operation when being arranged in a motor. Two flexural vibration modes are defined. One is an s-mode connected to an element being strapped at two supports at respective outer portions. The s-mode have three nodal points. The other vibration mode is an &#x3b5;-mode connected to an element being strapped at the supports and at a drive pad arranged at a middle portion. The &#x3b5;-mode has one nodal point at each side of the middle portion and the middle portion has a stroke amplitude that is smaller than stroke amplitudes at portions between the middle portion and the nodal points. An average of the resonance frequencies of the s-mode strapped at two and three points, respectively, differs from and the &#x3b5;-mode resonance frequency by less than 25%.
