System includes first and second amplifying circuits that are configured to receive input signals having a fundamental frequency. The system also includes first and second transmission lines that are configured to receive voltage and current waveforms from the first and second amplifying circuits, respectively. The system also includes a capacitively-compensated transmission line resonator (CC-TLR) that is configured to be electrically connected to a load having a load impedance. The CC-TLR is configured to receive and combine RF power from the first and second transmission lines. The CC-TLR has a compensation capacitance that causes the CC-TLR to present an open circuit at the fundamental frequency and present a short circuit at harmonic frequencies. Optionally, a characteristic impedance (Z) of the first and second transmission lines and a load impedance (Z) are unequal, and the first and second transmission lines cause a load impedance transformation.

System and method for amplifying and combining radiofrequency power

Power combiner/divider includes a transmission line (TL) resonator having an inner conductor, an outer conductor that surrounds the inner conductor, and a cavity between the inner conductor and the outer conductor. The inner conductor and the outer conductor are electrically connected at a proximal end of the TL resonator. The power combiner/divider also includes coupling elements extending through respective openings of the outer conductor and into the cavity. The power combiner/divider also includes a capacitive element connected to at least one of the inner conductor or the outer conductor. The capacitive element capacitively couples the inner conductor and the outer conductor at a distal end of the TL resonator.

Tube amplifier assembly including a power tube that is configured to be coupled to a grounding deck and positioned within an opening of the grounding deck. The tube amplifier assembly also includes a tube adapter that is configured to be coupled to the grounding deck. The tube adapter has a capacitive plate that extends parallel to the grounding deck and an adapter wall that is coupled to the capacitive plate. The tube adapter has an adapter opening that is aligned with the deck opening to form a tube passage. The tube adapter includes flexible conductive elements that are electrically coupled to the capacitive plate and surround the tube passage. The flexible conductive elements engage the power tube in the tube passage and electrically couple the power tube to the capacitive plate. The grounding deck and the capacitive plate form a capacitor assembly.

Radio-frequency (RF) electrode for a cyclotron. The RF electrode includes a hollowed dee having first and second surfaces that oppose each other and define a gap therebetween. The hollowed dee is configured to be electrically controlled to direct a beam of charged particles through the gap and along an orbit plane of the cyclotron. The orbit plane extends parallel to the first and second surfaces through the gap. The RF electrode also includes a bridge structure that is coupled to and extends away from the hollowed dee. The bridge structure includes a side wall that defines an interior cavity of the bridge structure. The side wall has a particle opening therethrough that coincides with or is proximate to the orbit plane such that the particle opening receives neutral particles from an orbit of the charged particles.

Radio-frequency electrode and cyclotron configured to reduce radiation exposure

RF amplification system includes a power cavity and a coupling loop operably positioned within the power cavity between an inner conductor and an outer conductor. The coupling loop includes a secured segment that is coupled to the grounding deck and a movable segment that is coupled to the secured segment. The secured segment extends between the grounding deck and the movable segment. The coupling loop defines a loop region that correlates to an amount of inductive coupling between the coupling loop and magnetic field within the power cavity. The movable segment is movable relative to the secured segment while the secured segment is stationary to change a size of the loop region and thereby change the amount of inductive coupling.

Coupling assembly and radiofrequency amplification system having the same

Tube amplifier system including a plurality of conductor walls extending parallel to a longitudinal axis and defining an interior space therebetween. The tube amplifier system also including a shorting deck that extends transverse to the longitudinal axis. The shorting deck is electrically coupled to the conductor walls. The tube amplifier system also includes a movable tray assembly having a grounding deck that extends parallel to the shorting deck. The grounding deck and the shorting deck define an output cavity therebetween that has a length. The movable tray assembly is removably mounted to at least one of the conductor walls such that the grounding deck is capable of being positioned at multiple different levels along the longitudinal axis to change the length of the output cavity.

Tunable tube amplifier system of a radio-frequency power generator

Radio frequency (RF) power generator including an outer enclosure having a system cavity. The outer enclosure separates the system cavity from an exterior of the RF power generator. The outer enclosure is configured to reduce leakage of the electromagnetic radiation into the exterior. The RF power generator also includes a feedthrough assembly comprising a coaxial line configured to receive electric power generated by an RF amplification system. The coaxial line is positioned within the system cavity and has inner and outer conductors. The feedthrough assembly includes a connector shield that forms a feedthrough to the exterior of the RF power generator. The connector shield is electrically coupled to the outer conductor of the coaxial line and integrated with the outer enclosure to reduce leakage of electromagnetic radiation into the exterior.
