A frequency converter class contains various types of frequency converters. A first type of frequency converters of the frequency converter class consists of: power electronics, a carrier element, and a housing element of a first housing element type that, in connection with the carrier element, forms a housing for the power electronics, and a second type of frequency converters of the frequency converter class consists of: the power electronics, the carrier element and a housing element of a second housing element type that, in connection with the carrier element, forms a housing for the power electronics.

Frequency converter class

A frequency converter has a first intermediate circuit arm on which a positive intermediate circuit potential is present during operation, a second intermediate circuit arm on which a negative intermediate circuit potential is present during operation, and an inverter having first and second input terminals. The inverter has a number of bridge arms, each of which has an upper and a lower semiconductor switching device. The upper and lower switching devices are looped in series between the first and second input terminals. A connection node of the upper and lower switching devices forms an inverter output terminal. A reactor is looped-in between the first circuit arm and the first input terminal. A shunt resistor is looped-in between the second circuit arm and the second input terminal. An evaluation unit detects, based on a voltage across the shunt resistor, a ground fault on the upper semiconductor switching devices of the inverter.

Frequency converter with ground fault detection

A frequency converter includes an intermediate circuit capacitor at which an intermediate circuit voltage is present, an inverter for generating control signals with a variable frequency and a variable amplitude from the intermediate circuit voltage, and a circuit for measuring the intermediate circuit voltage. The circuit for measuring the intermediate circuit voltage includes a resistive voltage divider, the intermediate circuit voltage being applied to the first side of the resistive voltage divider and the second side of the latter being electrically connected to a reference potential, a capacitive voltage divider, the intermediate circuit voltage being applied to the first side of the capacitive voltage divider and the second side of the latter being electrically connected to the reference potential, at least one connecting node of resistors of the resistive voltage divider being electrically connected to a corresponding connecting node of capacitors of the capacitive voltage divider, and an evaluation unit which evaluates a measurement voltage generated by means of the resistive voltage divider and the capacitive voltage divider for the purpose of measuring the intermediate circuit voltage.

Frequency converter

A power converter includes: a first circuit board; a cooling body; a housing, wherein the cooling body and the housing surround the first circuit board; a heat-generating component which is arranged on a side of the first circuit board facing the cooling body and which is coupled to the cooling body in a heat-conducting manner; and further components. The cooling body, the housing and the first circuit board border a first volume, in which the heat-generating component is arranged. The cooling body, the housing and the first circuit board border a second volume, in which the further components are arranged.

Power converter

A frequency converter includes a monitoring unit that has respective first drive signals of gate drivers of a bidirectional power converter applied to it and that is designed to detect the failure of at least one mains phase of a three-phase AC grid voltage that is supplied to the bidirectional power converter based on a temporal profile of the respective first drive signals.

A circuit for controlling an electromechanical holding brake, includes: at least one halfwave rectifier, which generates a pulsed DC voltage from a mains AC voltage, and a phase gating circuit which is designed to generate a control signal for the electromechanical holding brake from the pulsed DC voltage by means of the phase gating.

A frequency converter, includes: a DC link, wherein the DC link has a first connection pole at which a positive link potential is present during operation of the frequency converter, and a second connection pole at which a negative link potential is present during operation of the frequency converter; an inverter, wherein the inverter has a first connection pole at which a positive inverter potential is present during operation of the frequency converter, and a second connection pole at which a negative inverter potential is present during operation of the frequency converter; a resistive shunt which is looped in between the first connection pole of the DC link and the first connection pole of the inverter; a differential amplifier which is designed to generate a test voltage from a potential difference across the resistive shunt; and an evaluation unit which is designed to detect a ground fault based on the test voltage.

A frequency converter includes: at least one bridge arm, wherein a shunt resistor is arranged in the bridge arm; an evaluation device having an input connection, the evaluation device being designed to evaluate a measurement signal which is present at the input connection and which is dependent on a voltage drop across the shunt resistor, in order to determine a measured variable; and a voltage peak suppression device, which is designed to short-circuit the input connection of the evaluation device when a voltage peak occurs at the shunt resistor.

A frequency converter having a shunt resistor for emitter shunt current measurement includes a drivable switch, which is interconnected and driven in such a way that it prevents an undesired current flow via a bootstrap capacitor and the shunt resistor.

A charging station charges an electric vehicle. The charging station has: a housing, a number of first power electronics components and a number of second power electronics components, the second electronics components being different from the first power electronics components, wherein the first power electronics components and the second power electronics components are arranged spatially in the housing, and a first air cooling circuit and a second air cooling circuit separate from the first air cooling circuit. The air cooling circuits are arranged spatially in the housing. The first air cooling circuit serves to cool the number of first power electronics components. The second air cooling circuit serves to cool the number of second power electronics components. The charging station is designed such that a first protection class of at least one region of the first air cooling circuit is higher than a second protection class of the second air cooling circuit.

A method operates an inverter, wherein the inverter includes a number of bridge arms with respective bridge terminals, wherein a respective bridge arm is electrically connected on a first side to a first intermediate circuit pole of the inverter, and wherein a respective bridge arm is electrically connected on a second side to a second intermediate circuit pole of the inverter. A respective bridge arm has at least two switching elements, wherein a respective bridge terminal, depending upon a circuit state of the switching elements in the bridge arm, is electrically connected either to the first intermediate circuit pole or to the second intermediate circuit pole. A shunt resistor is arranged in a respective bridge arm. The method actuates the respective switching elements of the bridge arms via pulse width modulation with a temporally variable pulse duty factor, such that voltages between the bridge terminals show a temporally defined characteristic. The respective switching elements of the bridge arms are actuated with flat-top modulation for specific angular ranges of a respective fundamental wave, and a respective pulse duty factor for the switching elements of the bridge arms, immediately ahead of and/or immediately after the angular ranges, varies within a predefined time interval in an angularly-independent manner.

Inverter and method for operating an inverter with angle-independent variation of pulse duty factor of switching elements

A method operates an inverter by driving respective switching means of the bridge arms using pulse width modulation with a temporally changeable duty cycle such that voltages between the bridge connections have a temporally predefined profile. The respective switching means of the bridge arms are driven with flat-top modulation for particular angular ranges of a respective fundamental oscillation. A respective duty cycle for the respective switching means of the bridge arms is selected such that, during a respective period of the pulse width modulation, at least two shunt resistors always perform their measurement function for a minimum time.

A power converter for driving a three-phase AC motor with three phase conductors has: a first terminal for connecting a first of the three phase conductors of the three-phase AC motor, wherein a current which is to be output by way of the first terminal is routed to the first terminal by way of an electrical feed line, and a ground-fault and/or short-circuit identification circuit which is designed to detect a ground fault and/or short circuit of the first terminal. The ground-fault and/or short-circuit identification circuit has: a coil with a winding which is arranged adjacent to the electrical feed line, wherein the winding does not surround the electrical feed line, and an evaluation device which is designed to evaluate a voltage, which is induced in the winding, for ground-fault and/or short-circuit identification.
