A tank arrangement includes a tank container which encloses a tank space where the tank container has a bottom side and a top side which is disposed opposite from the bottom side. A swirl pot is disposed in the tank space and has a swirl pot opening. A suction jet pump has a nozzle, a propulsion jet line, and a suction jet line where the propulsion jet line and the suction jet line open into the nozzle and where the nozzle has an outlet opening. The nozzle is disposed on the top side of the tank container at a distance above the swirl pot opening with the outlet opening directed toward the swirl pot opening.

Method for checking operability, checking device and motor vehicle

A method for determining an air mass in an air separator of a water direct injection system for injecting a water/fuel mixture into a combustion chamber of an engine of a motor vehicle. The air separator is disposed between a water pump for delivering water of the water/fuel mixture and a high-pressure pump for feeding the water/fuel mixture to a high-pressure injector for injecting the water/fuel mixture into the combustion chamber. The method includes increasing a pressure of the water from a first pressure value to a second pressure value by the water pump, determining a water volume delivered by the water pump during the increasing of the pressure of the water by the water pump, and determining the air mass in the air separator on a basis of the determined water volume delivered by the water pump.

Method for determining an air mass and direct water injection system

An operating material supply system for a motor vehicle includes: i) at least one operating material container for storing operating material at risk of freezing; ii) at least one conveying device, which is designed to convey the operating material stored in the operating material container upstream in the direction of at least one injector, or in the opposite direction downstream, iii) at least one air separator, which is connected to the operating material container via a feed line; iv) at least one first injector line, which connects the air separator to at least one first injector. When the air separator is installed in the motor vehicle, a connector for the first injector line is distanced further from the roadway surface than a connector for the feed line.

A device for supplying a liquid at risk of freezing to the combustion chambers of an internal combustion engine, in particular an internal combustion engine driving a motor vehicle, is designed to convey the liquid at risk of freezing at least from a section of a supply line, through which the liquid travels from a storage container to a supply unit to the internal combustion engine, back to the storage container. In addition, an aeration valve is provided near to the supply unit and branching off from the supply line, via which the supply line is connected to the environment in the open state. When viewed in the direction of the storage container, downstream of the aeration valve, an air separation/pressure reservoir structural unit connected to the supply line is provided, which is designed to at least proportionally discharge air content out of the supply line and out of the liquid located in the supply line in a section positioned at the top in the mounted state, and to act as a pressure reservoir acting on the liquid in the supply line.

Device for supplying a fluid at risk of freezing to the combustion chambers of an internal combustion engine

A water tank device for an internal combustion engine with water injection, includes a water tank with an internal volume, which is at least partly delimited by a tank wall and in which a liquid is stored for the water injection in the internal combustion engine, and a filter device, which is designed to clean fuel vapor from a fuel tank of the internal combustion engine. The filter device has a heat transfer surface. The filter device is closed so as to be fluid-tight against the liquid which can be received in the internal volume. The filter device is arranged on the water tank such that a heat exchange with the liquid which can be stored in the water tank is facilitated via the heat transfer surface.

Water tank device for an internal combustion engine with water injection

A container is provided for a liquid operating medium of a motor vehicle. The container includes: i) an outer container which forms a container volume; ii) at least one heating device which is designed to thaw frozen operating medium, and iii) a partition which divides the container volume into a proximal region and a distal region. The proximal region is arranged closer to the at least one heating device than the distal region. The partition is designed to let through more operating medium between the proximal region and the distal region in the installation position of the container than in an oblique position of the container.

A motor vehicle includes a tank for storing a liquid reducing agent suppliable to the exhaust system of an internal-combustion engine, and an air delivery device, by which an excess pressure can be built-up in a cushion of air situated in the tank above the reducing agent level. Via the air delivery device, alternatively, a vacuum is generatable in the air cushion, which vacuum supports feeding of the agent into the tank. Via the vacuum in the air cushion, reducing agent can also be returned from a pipe, which leads the reducing agent to the exhaust system, back into the tank, and/or additional liquid reducing agent can be transferred from a storage tank by way of a supply duct.

A method is provided for determining the amount of ammonia which is stored in a storage container by a chemical bond to a solid storage medium, in particular a salt of an earth alkaline metal or the like, and which can be released by supplying heat in order to be supplied to a catalytic exhaust gas purification device of an internal-combustion engine. The storage medium functions as a dielectric of an electric capacitor and the stored amount of ammonia is inferred from the capacity of this capacitor. One wall of the housing of the storage container functions as a first electrode of the capacitor, and, within the storage container, at least one additional electrode is arranged such that at least a partial amount of the storage medium forms the dielectric. The storage container may have an essentially cylindrical shape. Several cylindrical electrodes can be arranged in a coaxial manner.

Method and storage container for determining a stored amount of ammonia for catalytic exhaust gas purification

An arrangement is provided for feeding a liquid additive from a receptacle into a fuel line or into an exhaust line of an internal-combustion engine of a motor vehicle by way of a blockable feed line leading into at least one of the above-mentioned line and by way of a pump which at least temporarily generates a feed pressure in the feed line. The receptacle can be filled with additive from a larger storage tank also accommodated in the motor vehicle by way of a connection line that can be blocked. The feed line branches off the connection line between the receptacle and the storage tank. The pump is installed in the receptacle or between the receptacle and the branching-off of the feed line into the connection line. The connection line can be shut-off in the storage tank or between the storage tank and the branching-off of the feed line.

Arrangement for feeding a liquid additive for an internal-combustion engine

An arrangement is provided for feeding a liquid additive from a receptacle into a fuel pipe or into an exhaust line of an internal-combustion engine of a motor vehicle. The receptacle is fillable with additive from a larger storage tank that is also accommodated in the motor vehicle by way of a connection line that can be blocked by a shut-off element. A pump is installed in the receptacle or in the connection line. A heating device for heating at least a partial volume of the additive is present in the receptacle. A blockable return line branches off into the receptacle from the connection line between the pump and the shut-off element.

Feeding arrangement for a liquid additive for an internal-combustion-engine

A device and method for testing seal tightness of a fuel tank system of a motor vehicle, wherein excess pressure is built up in the fuel tank system by an electrically operated pump and electric current consumption of the pump is compared to reference values in order to determine whether the seal tightness of the fuel tank system is sufficient, and wherein the fuel tank system includes a filler neck with a locking fuel tank cap. A control line is connected in parallel to the power supply line of the pump, the control line being guided across an electric tank cap switch, which assumes a different switch state when the filler neck is closed properly than when it is not closed properly. In at least one of these lines, an electric resistor is installed, which allows a determination of the switch state of the tank cap switch.
