A medical or dental treatment device comprises a tool retainer, a measuring coil and an evaluation device. The tool retainer can be connected to a plurality of different tools. The measuring coil can be supplied with a periodic electrical energy. The evaluation device can be connected to the measuring coil for detecting whether a tool is connected to the treatment device or which of a plurality of tools is connected to the treatment device. On the basis of an electromagnetic (e.g., inductive) coupling between the tool accommodated in the tool retainer and the measuring coil supplied with the periodic energy, a periodic measurement signal specific to each tool can be generated and assigned by the evaluation device to the tool. The evaluation device determines the phase shift of the electrical voltage and of the electric current of the periodic measurement signal.

Medical or dental treatment device and tool for such a treatment device

A medical, particularly a dental or dental surgical, ultrasonic treatment device for generating ultrasonic vibrations and transmitting the ultrasonic vibration to a tool, which can be connected to the ultrasonic treatment device, the medical ultrasonic treatment device having: an ultrasonic vibration generator with a plurality of piezoelectric elements to which an electric voltage can be applied, and a circuit board to supply the plurality of piezoelectric elements with the electric voltage. Furthermore, a method for manufacturing a corresponding medical ultrasonic treatment device is described.

A medical treatment device, such as a dental treatment device, is described, the device including a drive unit for driving multiple different tools that are detachably connectable to the treatment device and a tool recognition device for recognizing whether a tool is connected to the treatment device and/or which of the different tools is connected to the treatment device. The tool recognition device includes a coil and an evaluation unit, wherein the coil is connected or connectable to an AC voltage sources, and the coil is inductively couplable to the different tools, so that an AC voltage signal that is specific for each tool and that can be associated with the particular tool by the evaluation unit can be generated.

A dental handpiece for root canal treatment comprises an outer sleeve, a connecting device for connecting the handpiece to a control and analyzing unit, a measurement circuit having a power source and to a drive unit, an electrically conducting tool receptacle and an electrically conducting driving device, wherein the tool receptacle and the driving device are mechanically and electrically connected together so that a driving motion generated by the drive unit can be transmitted via the driving device to the tool receptacle and electrical measurement signals can be transmitted between the driving device and the tool receptacle. A first connection is provided for transmitting the driving motion. A second electrically conducting connection, which may comprise sliding contacts, is provided for transmitting the electrical measurement signals. With separate connections, an improved signal transmission and in particular a low loss of measurement signals of the root canal length measurement during the signal transmission are achieved.

Dental handpiece for root canal treatment and method

A handpiece for measuring root canal length having an outer sleeve that is substantially non-insulating, a connecting device, an instrument carrier, at least one transmission element within the outer sleeve, a length measuring circuit portion, a contact portion and an insulating portion. The instrument carrier is configured to receive a dental instrument. The transmission element transmits force to move the instrument carrier so that a dental instrument received in the instrument carrier executes a rotating, reciprocating and/or vibrating working movement. The length measuring circuit portion is disposed inside the handpiece and operable to transmit measuring signals for measuring length. The contact portion is operable to establish a conductive path between the dental instrument serving as an electrode and the length measuring circuit portion. The insulating portion insulates the length measurement circuit portion and the contact device, through which a voltage is applied during measurement, from the outer sleeve.

Dental handpiece with a root canal length measurement function

A medical handle device having an illumination apparatus with at least one optical semiconductor component and a method for manufacturing such a hand-held device are displayed. It is proposed that in order to adapt the hand-held device to the specific requirements of a medical application such as uniformly high light emission, high mechanical resistance, sterilizability and electric safety, the illumination apparatus is provided with a base body, at least one blind hole arranged in the base body, a light-emitting window which is formed by the part of the base body extending from the bottom of the blind hole to the first end of the base body and is connected to a cover device which is connected to the base body and with which the blind hole forms a hermetically sealed interior, whereby the at least one optical semiconductor component is arranged in the hermetically sealed interior and the base body and the cover device are made of an electrically non-conducting material that can withstand sterilization. In some embodiments, at least one optical semiconductor component is encased in a transparent thermoplastic material.

A handpiece for measuring root canal length comprises an outer sleeve that is substantially non-insulating, a connecting device, an instrument carrier, at least one transmission element within the outer sleeve, a length measuring circuit portion, a contact portion and an insulating portion. The instrument carrier is configured to receive a dental instrument. The transmission element transmits force to move the instrument carrier so that a dental instrument received in the instrument carrier executes a rotating, reciprocating and/or vibrating working movement. The length measuring circuit portion is disposed inside the handpiece and operable to transmit measuring signals for measuring length. The contact portion is operable to establish a conductive path between the dental instrument serving as an electrode and the length measuring circuit portion. The insulating portion insulates the length measurement circuit portion and the contact device, through which a voltage is applied during measurement, from the outer sleeve.
