Disclosed is a bike trailer having a main frame and a seat structure. The main frame defines an accommodating space for a passenger or load to be transported. The seat structure is transferable between an operational state in which the seat structure forms a seating area for the passenger, and a stowed state in which the seat structure is folded away thereby allowing the transport of loads other than passengers. The seat structure comprises a backrest portion with a seating side for at least partially contacting the back of a passenger. The backrest portion is accommodatable in the bike trailer such that at least the seating side of the backrest portion is protected against contact with loads to be carried when the seat structure is in the stowed state.

The present disclosure relates to a wheel holder for a vehicle, preferably a bike front wheel holder, with a load connecting portion, which is preferably releasably attachable to a load carrier, and a wheel holding member, wherein the wheel holder comprises a docking device configured for releasable attachment of the wheel holding member to the load connecting portion to allow for attachment of a wheel to the wheel holding member at a location remote from the load connecting portion. Furthermore, the present disclosure relates to load carrier attachment devices.

Disclosed is a supporting unit for a bike carrier. The supporting unit is configured for fixedly holding a mounting portion mountable to the fork of a bike instead of a wheel or being formed by a part other than the wheel of the bike to be transported, for example by a portion of the fork of the bike. The supporting unit comprises a locking mechanism for receiving the mounting portion and to be transferable between a locking state in which the mounting portion is non-releasably fixed on the supporting unit and an unlocking state in which the mounting portion is dismountable from the supporting unit. The locking mechanism is lockable by receiving a force from the mounting portion upon inserting the mounting portion into the supporting unit so that the locking mechanism is transferable into the locking state by the force exerted on the locking mechanism by the mounting portion.

A wheel holder for a bicycle carrier for a vehicle includes at least one body and at least one fastening member. The wheel holder is configured to receive and retain a wheel having a tread. The at least one body provides a first wheel receiving surface and a second wheel receiving surface. The first and second wheel receiving surfaces are separated by a distance in a first plane. The first plane is aligned with a rotation plane of the wheel of the bicycle after the wheel has been mounted to the wheel holder. A void is formed between the first and second wheel receiving surfaces. The void is configured to receive a portion of the wheel of the bicycle such that the first and second wheel receiving surfaces provide a first support point and a second support point on the tread of the wheel separated by the void.

A tensioning device for a load carrier, such as a bike carrier or a roof box. The tensioning device includes a torque limiting mechanism which is adapted to limit the amount of transferable torque. The torque limiting mechanism includes a first torque transmission member and a second torque transmission member. The first torque transmission member is biased into working cooperation with the second torque transmission member such that upon a torque threshold value, the first and second torque transmission members are disengaged from working cooperation so that a torque limiting function is provided. The first attachment part and the second attachment part are structured so as to be invertedly couplable for providing respective reversed positions of the bike supporting device with respect to the second attachment part.

A bicycle fork mount for receiving and securing a front axle hub assembly of a through-axle type front bicycle wheel, but which is also temporarily adaptable for receiving a fork of a skewer type front bicycle wheel includes a fork mount body having a hollow for insertably receiving a front axle hub assembly of a through-axle front bicycle wheel. An adapter is received in the hollow and has a fork receiving skewer associated therewith that is configured for translational movement relative to the adapter. The load carrier includes a longitudinal rail section () provided with connecting devices () for connection to the mounting devices and securing devices () for securing the wheels () of the loaded bicycle, a retaining arm () pivotable arranged relative to the rail and provided with a claw grip () having a first and a second jaw (andrespectively) which jaws are lateral (T) to the longitudinal direction of the rail section (L) and arranged so as to form a gap () facing the side (S) of the longitudinal rail section from which side the bicycle is loaded. The retaining arm is arranged so that it can be turned to a position in which the claw grip can be connected to the frame () of the loaded bicycle when the bicycle is raised into the upright position, and in which position the claw grip can be tightened about the frame to hold the loaded bicycle in the upright position. The longitudinal direction (A-A) of the longitudinal rail section (), in the area of one wheel (or) of a bicycle loaded thereon is arranged at an angle (&#x3b1;) relative to the longitudinal direction (B-B) of the rail section in the area of the second wheel of the bicycle which causes the bicycle to move along the rail section so that the frame () of the bicycle enters into active engagement with at least one of the jaws () of the claw grip () and thereby ensures that the bicycle remains in the upright position even if the claw grip () is not tightened.

Load carrier for transporting a bicycle

An arrangement for securing a load carrier to a transporting vehicle that includes an anchor mechanism adapted for securement to a transporting vehicle and for releasable engagement with a carrier foot. The carrier foot has a latching mechanism for releasable engagement with the anchor mechanism. The latching mechanism is adapted for latching engagement to, and disengagement from the anchor mechanism by movement of the carrier foot in a direction substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the carrier foot. An example of such movement is vertical movement substantially of an up and down nature. The latching mechanism has a latching and an unlatching configuration and the latching mechanism is urged toward the latching configuration by a resilient biasing mechanism. The latching mechanism is adapted to move from the latching configuration to the unlatching configuration and back to the latching configuration under the influence of the resilient biasing mechanism and responsive to the carrier foot being positioned into latching engagement upon the anchor mechanism. An example of the resilient biasing mechanism is a spring that yields from a latching configuration to an unlatching configuration of that spring as the latching mechanism moves from its latching configuration to its unlatching configuration.
