A rotary tablet press having a rotatably driven rotor and a die plate with a plurality of die bores. A plurality of upper and lower punches are configured to produce tablets in the plurality of die bores. The tablets are monitored for one or more characteristics and are sorted by an ejection apparatus according to the one or more characteristics into a reject channel and a satisfactory channel.

Rotary tablet press

A method for sorting tablets at a rotary press for making tablets, comprising the following steps: the individual tablets are monitored with regard to at least one property of their condition during the pressing process, and a bad-signal is generated, if a tablet does not fulfill the property, and tablets which do not generate a bad-signal being good-tablets; the good-tablets are directed from a die plate of the rotary press into a good-channel; after a bad-signal has been generated, a bad-tablet is directed into a bad-channel by means of an air blast; by means of a further air stream, which is directed into the bad-channel, the bad-tablet is accelerated into the bad-channel whereby a returning to the die plate is avoided.

Method and apparatus for sorting tablets at a rotary press for making tablets

A die for a rotary compression press, comprising a die holder axially supported in a guide bore and a die insert which is seated in the end-side bore of the die holder via a trunnion-shaped projection and is adapted to be mounted via releasable fastening means, wherein the projection is helically guided in the bore between axially spaced stops and is biased by a spring towards the associated front-end face of the die holder.

Die for a rotary compression press

A tool arrangement for the manufacture of ring-shaped compacts using a rotary compression press wherein the rotary compression press has a rotatably driven die-plate having die holes in which die inserts are mounted, and upper and lower rams aligned towards the die inserts and rotating together therewith, which are moved by control portions towards each other or away from each other and wherein the bottom rams have a coaxial bore open to the operating end in which a central pin is disposed which is axially located relative to the die-plate by a transverse pin wherein the transverse pin extends through an axial slot of the lower ram, wherein the transverse pin is located in a ring which forms part of a guide bore for the lower ram which is formed in a radially outwardly facing projection of the die-plate, two bracket-shaped retaining clips are disposed on opposed sides of the lower ram a longer leg of which abuts against the underside of the ring and a short, second leg of which is bent over the projection, a web interconnecting the legs is adapted to be connected to the projection via a bolted joint, the retaining clips and the die-plate being formed in such a way that the long leg, while the bolted joint is being tightened, is axially pressed against the ring towards the die.
