A method performed by an Internet protocol Multimedia System, IMS, node for handling categorization data associated to a first device in an incoming call invitation from the first device to a second device in a communications network is provided. The IMS node obtains () from the server node, a number of respective data delta. Each data delta is related to a respective device out of a number of devices at a respective subsequent point in time. The respective data delta comprises only categorization data that is updated compared to categorization data relating to a point in time that is earlier than the subsequent point in time. Upon receiving () from the first device, a call invitation to the second device, the IMS node enforces () a policy relating to categorizing the type of communication of the call, to establish a trust level associated with the first device. The enforcing is based on whether a data delta relating to the first device is obtained among the number of obtained data delta relating to the number of devices.

Telephony application server node, server node, and methods therein, in a communications network

A method performed by an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, node, for handling a setup of a session between a first User Equipment, UE, and a second UE, in a communications network is provided. The IMS node receives () a request to setup a session from the first UE to the second UE. The request indicates a privacy value which the first UE has requested to apply for the session. The IMS node sends () a request to a server node. The request comprises an identity of the first UE and the privacy value. The request requests the server node to analyse the reputation of the first UE based on the identity of the first UE and the privacy value. The IMS node receives () a response from the server node. The response indicates the analysed reputation of the first UE. The IMS node then decides () how to handle the session setup and session privacy, based on the analysed reputation of the first UE.

Internet protocol multimedia subsystem node, server node and methods in a communications network

Disclosed is a method performed by an IP Multimedia System, IMS (), of a communication network. The method comprises receiving information of a call initiation or a call reception by a wireless communication device (), the information comprising an ID indicative of a subscriber of the wireless communication device (). The method further comprises sending information of the initiated or received call to an online charging system, OCS (), the information comprising the ID indicative of the subscriber of the wireless communication device (), receiving, from the OCS () and in response to the sending, a pointer referring to a notification picture, and sending the pointer to the wireless communication device (). Hereby it is possible for an operator to send notification pictures to its subscribers. Disclosed are also methods performed by the OCS () and the wireless communication device ().

Methods, wireless communication device, IMS and OCS for sending information to communication network subscribers

When a user equipment is roaming in a visited network, mid-call handover from VoWiFi to VoLTE is controlled by policies enforced in the user equipment and the home network. An inter-operator policy and a subscription policy are stored in the home network and a user equipment policy is stored in the user equipment. The roaming user equipment registers in a visited network. Later, when mid-call handover to VoLTE on the visited network is desired, and also permitted by its user equipment policy, the user equipment sends a request containing a call-specific identifier which the responsible network entity in the home network compares with the registered handover parameter having regard to the inter-operator and subscription policies. If compliance with the policies is found, then the mid-call handover is proceeded with.

A method of facilitating participation of a WebRTC enabled terminal in an ad hoc conference or chat session hosted in an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network, where there is an ongoing session between first and second terminals using the IMS network. The method comprises sending a link from the first terminal to a third terminal that is not provisioned or not registered with the IMS network, where the third terminal is said WebRTC enabled terminal and the link provides access to a conference/chat-correlator identifying said ongoing session, and sending a session invite from the third terminal to the first terminal, via a WebRTC gateway, WGw, the session invite including the conference/chat-correlator. The method further comprises, at the first terminal setting up a second session between the first terminal and the third terminal in response to the received session invite, and at the first terminal using the conference/chat-correlator in the received session invite to associate the ongoing and second sessions, and joining both sessions into an ad hoc conference or chat session hosted in the IMS network.

A method comprises, at an IMS charging node: (a) receiving a credit control request message from an IMS service network node over a service charging interface provided between the IMS service node and the IMS charging node; (b) determining with reference to one or more triggering conditions that an announcement is to be provided to a user associated with the credit control request message and/or another user; and (c) following such a determination, initiating an announcement service in the IMS service node by sending an announcement request in a credit control answer message over the service charging interface to the IMS service node, the credit control answer message being in response to the credit control request message and the announcement request comprising announcement information relating to the announcement to be provided.

Method and apparatus relating to online charging in an IP multimedia subsystem

A method of implementing a Communication Barring, CB, service within an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, network in respect of an ongoing IMS session or an IMS session in early session phase. The method comprises, at an Application Sever, AS, within the IMS network, parsing SIP messages relating to the session to detect an attempt to add one or more media streams to the session. CB service rules are applied to determine the allowability of the media stream(s) being added. If the media stream(s) being added is (are) not allowed, action is taken to prevent its addition, and otherwise allowing the media stream addition to proceed.

A method is provided which relates to online charging within an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS. According to a first aspect of the present invention there is provided a method of implementing a conference for a user of an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). The method comprises, at a Telephony Application Server (TAS) that provides IMS multimedia supplementary services to the user, receiving a request for a conference from the user, designating a Public User Identity (PUI) of the user as an identifier for a conference service provided by the TAS that is to host the conference for the user, receiving signalling relating to a call intended for the user, and using the designated PUI to determine if the call can be connected to a conference hosted by the TAS for the user.

Methods and apparatus for implementing a conference call

A service indication mechanism is described for use by IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, codes () of an IMS network () in routing a terminating call in a network comprising a circuit switched, CS, network () and an IMS network (). On receipt of a Service Initiation Protocol, SIP, message from a second IMS node (), the SIP message including a called user number associated with the call (A), a SIP Uniform Resource Identifier, URI, and the call services for the called user from a user profile database is retrieved (A). A second SIP URI is generated by including a service indicator of the called user in the received SIP URI, the service indicator representing the call services of the called user (A), the SIP message is transmitted with the second SIP-URI to a third IMS node (). On receiving the transmitted SIP message, the third IMS node () detects whether the service indicator is included in the SIP URI, and applies the service indicator to a plurality of policy rules for indicating whether the terminating call should be routed to the CS network () and whether to suppress insertion of a prefix to a CS routing number of the called user. The third IMS node () transmits to a CS node () a SIP message including the CS routing number without the prefix when a routing policy rule associated with the service indicator indicates suppression of the prefix (B).

A method is provided for online charging within an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS. A first credit control request message is received (S-A) at an IMS charging node () from an IMS service network node () over a service charging interface () provided between the IMS service node () and the IMS charging node (). In response to receipt of the first credit control message, it is determined (S-B) at the IMS charging node (), with reference to one or more triggering conditions, that a replenishment of credit is to be offered for a user associated with the first credit control request message. In this alternative, a second credit control request message associated with the user is received (S-F) from a transport network node () over a bearer charging interface () provided between the transport node () and the IMS charging node (); and, in response to receipt of the second credit control request message and as part of the replenishment service, a replenishment request is sent (S-G) in a second credit control answer message over the bearer charging interface () to the transport node (), the second credit control answer message being in response to the second credit control request message.

Method and apparatus for online charging in an IP multimedia subsystem

A method of enabling configuration of a link between a circuit-switched Private Branch Exchange (CS PBX), and an access gateway node that connects at least one CS PBX to an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). The method is performed at an IMS application server, AS. The AS is configured with timeslot configuration information for each link between the access gateway node and the at least one CS PBX. The AS receives, from the access gateway node, a request for timeslot configuration information for one or more of the links, and identifies the one or more links to which the request relates. The AS then retrieves the timeslot configuration information for the identified link, and sends a response indicating this information to the access gateway node.
