Balancing system for a rotating spindle () of a machine tool (); the balancing system has a rotating part comprising a balancing head () with at least one balancing mass () and at least one electric motor () which is adapted to regulate the position of the balancing mass; the rotating part also includes a vibration sensor () and a control system () with at least one hardware () and at least one software () executed by the hardware; the balancing system also includes a two-way contactless communication system () which establishes communication between the rotating control system and a fixed processing and control electronics () connected to a machine tool control unit (). The software of the control system features: a management application () which performs all the management of the balancing head and the vibration sensor during normal operation, and a service application () which, when the control system is powered after a suspension of the power supply, automatically starts up and starts the management application or, if a software update is required, overwrites the existing version of the management application with a new version.

Balancing system for a rotating spindle of a machine tool and relative control method

A system for controlling a numerical control machine tool with movable component parts carrying tools () and/or mechanical component parts to be checked includes a control unit () and a sensor device () having an associated interface unit (). A digital channel (), through which there are transmitted measuring signals from the interface unit to the control unit, is used, at different moments and as an alternative to the measuring process, for transmitting confirmation pulse signals (ACK) consequent to request/instruction messages that the control unit sends to the interface unit. A method for controlling the machine tool includes the sending of request/instruction messages (M) from the control unit to the interface unit, for example for checking the efficiency and the operativeness of the measuring chain, and the reception of confirmation pulse signals through the transmission channel which is a component part of the measuring chain. The sensor device is advantageously implemented by means of an optoelectronic apparatus which detects the interruption of the light beam (), typically a laser beam.

Method for controlling a machine tool

A method and a system for checking the position of a mechanical part (), for example a tool of a lathe, along a checking direction (X), employs an optoelectronic device () with a laser beam () and a sensor () for detecting the interruption of the beam. Mutual displacements between the part to be checked and the optoelectronic device within a checking area () are controlled according to a sequence including linear inspection movements () along a direction (Z) perpendicular to the checking direction and at inspection positions (Pi;P-P). The inspection positions are spaced apart along the checking direction at progressively decreasing mutual distances (D), according to a sequence that converges to the searched position (PN).
