Motorcycles tyre, comprising: a radial carcass structure (); a belt structure () applied in radially outer position with respect to the radial carcass structure (); a tread band () applied in radially outer position with respect to the belt structure (). The tyre () has a curvature ratio (f/C) greater than or equal to about 0.25. The tread band () comprises: a plurality of blocks () mutually spaced so as to define a tread pattern with a void/solid ratio (1&#x2212;Sb/St) comprised between about 25% and about 50%; transverse grooves () placed in succession along the circumferential extension of the tyre () and each substantially extending over the entire axial width of the tread band (). Each transverse groove () substantially extends along an axial direction. Two successive transverse grooves () circumferentially delimit an assembly () of blocks () placed in succession over the entire axial width of the tread band (). Circumferential grooves () delimit the blocks () of an assembly (). A ratio between a circumferential length (LI) of the blocks () and a width (L) of the transverse grooves () is equal to or greater than about 2.

Motorcycles tyre

A motorcycle tyre has a tread band including a central portion and two shoulder portions arranged at axially opposite sides of the central portion. The central portion includes a first plurality of grooves extended according to a substantially longitudinal direction and alternatively arranged at opposite sides of the equatorial plane of the tyre. Each groove of the first plurality of grooves has a substantially curvilinear course such as to form a concavity. The central portion further includes a sub-portion substantially free of grooves placed astride the equatorial plane of the tyre. Each of the shoulder portions includes a second plurality of grooves arranged obliquely relative to the equatorial plane of the tyre.

A motor vehicle tire, particularly for front wheels of motor vehicles, has a tread extending around an axis of rotation and includes a central annular portion which straddles an equatorial plane and two annular shoulder portions arranged on axially opposite sides of the central annular portion. The tread band has a void-to-rubber ratio of less than 10%, and the central annular portion has an axial extension less than 40% of the axial development of the tread band and includes at least a pair of first grooves extending substantially longitudinally on opposite sides of the equatorial plane. Each shoulder portion has an axial extension less than 35% of the axial development of the tread band and includes a plurality of second grooves extending substantially transversally forming an average angle with the equatorial plane of more than 90&#xb0;. The central annular portion has a void-to-rubber ratio more than 0.15 and the first grooves include at least one first segment and at least one second segment which is inclined with respect to the first segment so as to form a concavity directed toward the equatorial plane. The first segment of each first groove is shorter than the second segment and precedes the second segment in the tire rolling direction.

Motor vehicle tyre

Motor vehicle tyre adapted to be mounted on the rear wheel of a motor vehicle, includes a tread band having a tread pattern including a module which is repeated along a direction of circumferential extension of the tyre. The module has at least one first pair of first grooves inclined in opposite directions with respect to an equatorial plane of the tyre, and extending from the equatorial plane toward a respective shoulder; at least one second pair of second grooves inclined in opposite directions with respect to the equatorial plane and extending from the equatorial plane toward a respective shoulder. The first and the second grooves are staggered relative to each other in the circumferential direction in such a way as to maintain a substantially constant distance of less than half the pitch, at the equatorial plane between each first or second groove and the adjacent one in the circumferential direction.

A pair of motor vehicle tires includes a front tire and a rear tire to be mounted respectively on a front wheel and a rear wheel of a two-wheeled vehicle, each tire of the pair having a tread band extending around an axis of rotation. The tread band of the front tire includes a central annular portion straddling an equatorial plane and two annular shoulder portions disposed on axially opposite sides of the central annular portion. The central annular portion includes at least a pair of first grooves extending substantially longitudinally on opposite sides of the equatorial plane in such a way as to form a concavity directed toward the equatorial plane. Each shoulder portion includes a plurality of second grooves isolated from the first grooves and extending substantially transversally so as to form an average inclination with the equatorial plane greater than 90&#xb0;. The tread band of the rear tire includes instead a module which is replicated along a direction of circumferential development of the tire, the module including: at least one first pair of first grooves inclined in opposite directions with respect to the equatorial plane of the tire; each first groove of the first pair extending along a portion of the tread band between the equatorial plane and a respective shoulder and forming an average inclination less than 60&#xb0; with the equatorial plane.

A tire for motor vehicles, having a tread band extending around a rotation axis includes an annular central portion astride an equatorial plane of the tire, two annular shoulder portions arranged on axially opposite sides with respect to the annular central portion and two annular side portions each arranged between the annular central portion and a respective annular shoulder portion, the tread band having at least one module replicated along a circumferential direction of the tire and including at least one plurality of primary grooves inclined with respect to the equatorial plane and arranged at least on the annular portions, and at least one plurality of secondary recesses arranged mainly on the annular central portion and on at least one annular side portion, wherein a substantial disappearance of the secondary recesses determines a difference in the empty/solid ratio on the annular central and side portions between a new tire and a tire that has travelled at least 2000 km greater than 1.7%.

Tyres for motor vehicles

A tyre for motor vehicles, in particular for rear wheels of motor vehicles, has a tread band including an annular central portion, two first annular side portions and two second annular side portions, each arranged between the annular central portion and a respective first annular side portion and being narrower than the first annular side portion. The tread band has at least one module replicated along a circumferential direction of the tyre and includes grooves inclined with respect to the equatorial plane, at least two first grooves, each extending from a second annular side portion to a first annular side portion; at least two second grooves spaced from the first grooves in the circumferential direction, each extending only on a respective second annular side portion and at least two third grooves arranged along the circumferential direction on the opposite side to the first grooves with respect to the second grooves, each of said third grooves extending from a second annular side portion to a first annular side portion.

Tyre for motor vehicles

A motorcycle tire includes: a tread band with a tread pattern including, in a zone symmetrically arranged on either side of the equatorial plane, a first module repeatedly duplicated in a direction of circumferential extension of the tire. The module has at least two first longitudinal grooves inclined in an oppositely arranged manner relative to the equatorial plane; and at least two substantially transverse grooves designed to intersect the two longitudinal grooves so as to define at least one block. The zone has a width in the axial direction of between 20% and 65% of the width of the tread band and a solids/voids ratio equal to at least 0.20. The tread pattern also has at least one substantially transverse continuous portion which extends over the entire width of the tread band delimiting at least one end of the module in the circumferential direction.

Motorcycle tyre

A tire for motorcycles, has a tread band and includes an annular central portion and two annular shoulder portions. The tread band includes at least one first groove extending from one annular shoulder portion to the other annular shoulder portion and having a first vertex at the annular central portion, and at least one pair of second grooves arranged on opposite sides with respect to the equatorial plane, each groove of said at least one pair of second grooves being inclined with respect to the equatorial plane and extending from a respective annular shoulder portion up the annular central portion without intersecting the equatorial plane. The distance in the circumferential direction between an axially inner end of each groove of said at least one pair of second grooves and the first vertex is no greater than 3.5% of the circumferential extension of the tread band.

Tyre for motorcycles

Motorcycle tire suitable for mounting on the rear wheel of a motorcycle, including a tread band having a tread pattern includes a module which is repeated in a direction of circumferential extension of the tire, the module having: at least two substantially longitudinal first grooves which are inclined opposite to each other with respect to the equatorial plane of the tire; and at least two substantially longitudinal second grooves which are inclined opposite to each other with respect to the equatorial plane. Each substantially longitudinal first groove alternates with a second longitudinal groove. The substantially longitudinal first grooves have, in a direction axially away from the equatorial plane of the tire, two substantially consecutive curvilinear sections, the first section of which has a convexity and the second section of which has a concavity directed in the rolling direction of the tire. The first curvilinear section defines along its extension with the equatorial plane angles smaller than or equal to 90&#xb0;.
