A method for applying a component of a package for a substance for infusion having a filter bag for containing a substance and a pickup tag for manually picking up the filter bag includes a method for knotting a string to at least one of the components, which has the steps of interposing, between a string which is held taut along a first axis and a needle having an open lateral eye and angled transversally to the axis of the string, at least one of the components of the package, the component being angled so that the plane in which it lies is substantially parallel with the axis of the string; hooking the string with a single needle and using a sequence of passes through the plane in which the component lies forming stitching, which knots at least two loops of the string that are linked together one after another; and tightening the stitching to stably knot the string to the one or each component of the package.

A method and a line for the high-speed packaging of filter bags () containing an infusion product comprises at least three successive operating steps whereby: the filter bags () are wrapped in a continuous protective tubular envelope () by sealing a continuous V-shaped folded strip () along a longitudinal sealing line () and transversal sealing lines (); the tubular envelope () is cut into lengths; and the filter bags (), individually wrapped in respective envelopes (), are placed in cartons. An apparatus () for feeding a user machine () with particulate products, such as products for infusion like tea, chamomile and herbal teas in general, comprises a hopper () for dispensing the product and means () for transferring the product from the hopper () to the user machine (). The hopper () includes a feed body (), with vertical walls (), having an outlet opening () at its lower end. The transfer means () comprise a motor-driven, endless conveyor () facing the outlet opening (). The apparatus also comprises adjustment means () for adjusting the gap between the endless conveyor () and the outlet opening () according to the characteristics of the product feeding out the hopper ().

Apparatus for feeding particulate products to a user machine

A filter bag for containing a substance for infusion in a liquid comprises: a containment chamber with compartments for doses of the substance, sealed by top and bottom joins; a tag for picking up the bag; and a section of thread, wound around the outside of the containment chamber and extending along an outline of the chamber, one end of the thread being connected to the pick-up tag and the other to the top of the containment chamber. The section of thread is longer than the outline of the containment chamber to which it is attached. The excess length of the section of thread relative to the outline of the chamber is gathered on the outside of the containment chamber for the substance for infusion and is attached to the pick-up tag. A machine () that makes filter bags () containing a product for infusion in a liquid, comprises the following, arranged in succession: a unit () for preparing and feeding the materials used to make the filter bags; and at least: an assembly () for metering the infusion product; a forming unit (); a dividing unit () and a unit () for cutting the filter bags (). In the preparing and feeding unit () three separate filter bag materials, consisting of a web () of filter paper, a continuous thread (), and a row of tags () are gradually brought together, while moving continuously, and first loops () are made in the thread () and gathered between the tags (). The filter bags () are subsequently formed in the metering assembly (), in the dividing unit () and in the cutting unit (), which also operate with continuous motion.

An apparatus () for automatically and continuously forming envelopes () to contain filter bags () for an infusion product comprises: means () for forming the envelopes, designed to make on a web () of packaging material moving along a predetermined feed path () a longitudinal fold line delimiting two adjacent flaps () defining an interposed opening through which the web () can be laterally accessed by the filter bags (); manipulating means () designed to receive the filter bags () in succession, to turn them so that they lie in substantially the same plane as the web flaps () and to move the filter bags () along a feed path () having at least one end stretch () that is substantially centered relative to the web flaps (), the filter bags () moving along the stretch () in the same direction as the paper web () before the manipulating means () release the filter bags () between the web flaps ().

An apparatus for preparing and feeding materials used to make a filter bag for infusion products includes a revolving wheel having mechanisms arranged in succession thereon that are used for: forming filter bag pick-up tags and arranging them in order; feeding a continuous thread and forming first loops in the thread at regular intervals; delimiting separate faces on the tags and folding them onto each other so that the loops are held therebetween; joining the faces of each tag to each other; associating a web of filter paper to the edge of the revolving wheel and positioning it above the continuous thread and the tags connected to the thread; pushing a portion of the thread through the filter paper so as to form a second loop extending outward from the wheel.

An apparatus for making a wrapper for a product comprises: a feed device; an area for unwinding a web of heat-sealable paper; a station for feeding products which continuously receives and feeds out a first web of paper while placing the products on the web in succession and spaced equally apart; a station for feeding a second web of heat-sealable paper, where the second web of paper, fed by the feed device, is laid over the products and moves along continuously together with the first web of paper below it; a sealing station where the two webs of paper are joined crossways and lengthways to form a chain of closed wrappers, each containing a product. The apparatus comprises a single pair of feed rollers equipped with sealing elements and means for automatically detecting and correcting the misalignment of the sealing elements relative to the webs of paper by causing the rollers and the webs of paper to slip relative to each other.

A device for positioning products in succession and equally spaced on a conveyor belt comprises: a first rotor which rotates about a fixed horizontal axis of rotation, with a radial pusher which, when the first rotor rotates, intercepts the back of a product, accelerating it along a feed line towards the conveyor belt; and a second rotor which rotates about a fixed axis of rotation parallel with the axis of the first rotor and has a stop which, when the second rotor rotates, periodically intercepts the product feed line. The second rotor is located above the conveyor belt and rotates in such a way that, when it intercepts the feed line, it causes the stop to rotate at a peripheral speed identical to the belt feed speed. The stop on the second rotor intercepts the products accelerated by the first rotor, slowing them and depositing them on the belt in succession and spaced equally apart.

The invention relates to a device for a packaging machine to form groups of products and insert them into cartons at a cartoning station. The device comprises a stacking line equipped with a controlled outfeed hopper in which an alternating product presser operates. The stacking line comprises a container located at the bottom of the hopper and having a tongue inside it designed to retain the products forming the group which thus grows downwards towards an endwall of the container. The container moves alternately from a position in which it is connected with the hopper to a position in which it is connected with the cartoning station where the group is extracted from the container and transferred to the carton. The tongue is actuated by linear actuating means synchronized with the packaging machine by programmable control means and providing the enable signal to cut off the hopper to allow the container to move to the cartoning station.

The machine comprises a continuously turning wheel, whose lateral surface has pins which can move from a rest position, where they are retracted into the lateral surface, to a working position where they protrude from the wheel; the wheel assembles a strip of porous material with the thread, with a pickup tag and with the infusable product in such a way as to form tea bags where the thread is arranged in a closed loop inside the filter bag, together with the infusable product, and is attached to the edges of the filter bag to form a particularly resistant fastening during infusion.
