A method for designing a power factor controller apparatus for a power distribution network comprising the phases of: configuring, in a predefined computerised support, an interactive computerised environment () dedicated to the management of data and/or programming commands (reference); and acquiring, in said interactive computerised environment, data related to said power factor controller apparatus (reference); and acquiring and/or calculating, in said interactive computerised environment, data related to the power distribution network (reference) wherein said power factor controller apparatus is installed; and based on said phase e), calculating, in said interactive computerised environment, the optimal chasing of a power factor target for said power factor controller apparatus (reference).

Method for designing a power factor controller apparatus

A medium voltage switching device includes an electromagnetic actuation chain and a power supply which provides electric power to the electromagnetic actuation chain. The power supply includes at least a first power supply device which is electrically connected to a medium voltage power distribution line, so as to drain electric power directly from the distribution line, and a second circuit configured to store at least the electric energy drained from the medium voltage power distribution line, and to thereby provide the electromagnetic actuation chain with electric power.
