The application discloses a system and methods for remote access and analysis of data collected about items under inspection. The system includes one or more data collection stations, each of which may include an X-ray scanner that scans the items under inspection to obtain data about the items. The data is transmitted to one or more remote stations, where the data is remotely analyzed to determine whether the item contains a potential threat, such as, for example, explosives or other contraband. Data may be aggregated so that correlations between data collected for different items may be used to more accurately detect threats.

Networked security system

A method of advance baggage screening includes steps of transmitting a threat file corresponding to an item under inspection to a processing center, analyzing the threat file according to a detection algorithm at the processing center to determine a screening result for the item under inspection, and transmitting the screening result to a remotely located operator interface for access by an operator.

Remote baggage screening system, software and method

A computer readable medium encoded with a plurality of instructions for execution on at least one processor, the plurality of instructions performing a method of remote screening of items of baggage. The method includes steps of storing information about an item under inspection, linking a unique item identifier with the information to uniquely associate the information with the item under inspection and retrieving the information about the item under inspection in response to a request. The method also includes analyzing the information to determine a screening result for the item under inspection, and storing the screening result with the information about the item.

A system for remote inspection of items including at least one inspection machine constructed to examine an item under inspection to obtain information about the item, a database coupled to the at least one inspection machine that receives and stores the information about the item in an item file, the item including a unique item identifier, and an item file inspection device that receives the item file, analyzes data contained in the item file and records screening information based on an analysis of the item file. The system also includes a server that controls transfer of the item file and the screening information between the database and the item file inspection device. The screening information is linked with the item file using the unique item identifier. The item file inspection device is located remote from the at least one inspection machine.
