A method for actuating the movement of a boom, or an attachment, in a work vehicle includes determining a joystick position difference between the actual component of the position of the joystick along a boom, or attachment, actuation axis in a first time instant and a neutral position of the joystick along the boom, or attachment, actuation axis, determining a first position of the boom, or attachment, along the boom travel path in the first time instant, and a second position of the boom, or attachment, along the boom travel path in a second time instant, and determining a boom, or attachment, position difference between the second position and the first position. If the determined boom, or attachment, position difference is lower than a threshold and the determined joystick position difference is higher than a joystick position difference threshold, the method also includes slowing movement of the boom, or attachment.

An inching system for a vehicle having a hydrostatic transmission and an engine that drives the transmission. The transmission has a pilot pressure port with a pressure of hydraulic fluid at the pilot pressure port controlling a level of power from the transmission, a beginning of draining of the hydraulic fluid from the pilot pressure port defining an inching starting point. The system includes a brake pedal and an electrohydraulic valve coupled to the pilot pressure port of the transmission, the valve being configured to drain the hydraulic fluid at the pilot pressure port. A sensor is coupled to the pedal to detect an input from the operator, the sensor producing a signal indicative of the input from the operator. A controller receives the signal and a speed of the engine. The controller controls the electrohydraulic valve dependent upon the signal and the engine speed so that the inching starting point is unchanged regardless of the speed of the engine.

A method for executing straight tracking control may include receiving an input command(s) associated with controlling the operation of a first-side drive system and/or a second-side drive system of a hydrostatic transmission of a work vehicle to drive the vehicle along a straight path. The method may also include receiving first and second speed signals associated with the output speeds of the drive systems, and modifying the first speed signal or the second speed signal based on a speed scaling factor to generate a corrected speed signal. In addition, the method may include determining an adjusted control command for controlling the operation of the hydrostatic transmission as a function of the input command(s) and a control output determined based on the corrected speed signal. Further, the method may include controlling the operation of the hydrostatic transmission based at least in part on the adjusted control command.

System and method for executing straight tracking control of a work vehicle

A compact wheel loader having a hydrostatic transmission and two modes of operation. In a normal mode, a demand lever is used to set the engine speed, and displacement of the swash plate of the hydraulic pump of the transmission is set by a hydraulic pilot pressure (Ps) that increases with engine speed, so that the transmission ratio automatically decreases as the engine speed increased. In a creeper mode, the engine is set to operate at a high speed to meet the demand of powered implements of the loader, and the wheel speed is controlled by the demand lever setting the transmission ratio by varying the hydraulic pilot pressure (Ps).

A working machine including a movable implement, a hydraulic actuator for displacing the implement, and a hydraulic control system for enabling an operator to control movement of the implement. The control system allows the implement to be returned to a desired position or state, such as a return to dig position or a return to float state, in a single automated operation that is initiated by the operator actuating a switch at the same time as moving a joystick in a desired direction. A pilot-operated valve is used to supply hydraulic fluid under pressure to the actuator acting on the implement and the operation of the joystick is detected by means of a pressure sensor connected to a control line of the pilot-operated valve.

A method of defining a target regeneration temperature setpoint for exhaust gas upstream of a particulate filter of an exhaust gas treatment system includes as defining the regeneration temperature setpoint to include an idle temperature setpoint when the current vehicle operating mode is classified as an idle mode, and defining the regeneration temperature setpoint to include a driving temperature setpoint when the current vehicle operating mode is classified as a driving mode. The idle temperature setpoint and the driving temperature setpoint are derived individually of and separately from each other, and are based on different criteria.

Method of setting a particulate filter regeneration setpoint based on exhaust flow mass

A method of controlling an exhaust gas treatment system includes measuring a quantity of fuel used by the vehicle during a defined time period of a regeneration event, and estimating a quantity of particulate matter being burnt from a particulate filter during the defined time period to define a particulate matter burn rate. The quantity of fuel used is compared with the calculated particulate matter burn rate to define a regeneration fuel efficiency ratio. The regeneration fuel efficiency ratio is compared to a minimum regeneration fuel efficiency rate to determine if the regeneration event is an efficient use of fuel or is not an efficient use of fuel. The regeneration event is stopped prior to an estimated completion of the regeneration event when the comparison of the regeneration fuel efficiency ratio to the minimum regeneration fuel efficiency rate indicates that the regeneration event is not an efficient use of fuel.
