An ink jet printing system includes an ink receiving sheet and an ink-jet printer. The ink receiving sheet includes a support, at least one receiving layer and a top coat layer. The ink-jet printer includes an ink-jet cartridge comprising an ink. The receiving layer includes a hydrophilic binder and a vinyl polymeric compound and has a total coverage weight of at least 12 g/m , and the top coat layer is free of vinyl polymeric compounds and comprises a hydrophilic binder and a corn starch matting agent. The ink includes a dye selected from the group consisting of azo and disazo dye at a concentration higher than 4% by weight, in order to achieve an optical density higher than 3.00.

The receiving layer includes a hydrophilic binder and a vinyl polymeric compound and has a total coverage weight of at least 12 g/m . The top coat layer is free of vinyl polymeric compounds and includes a hydrophilic binder and a corn starch matting agent.

Ink receiving sheet

The present invention relates to an apparatus for developing and digitizing an image-wise exposed silver halide radiographic film comprising: an automatic radiographic film processing unit having an output, wherein the processing unit develops the image-wise exposed silver halide radiographic film to create a visible image on the radiographic film; a radiographic film digitizer having an input, wherein the radiographic film digitizer is vertically positioned in relation to a lateral side of the radiographic film processing unit, and photoelectrically reads the visible image on the radiographic film; and an integrated docking unit having a connecting means which connects the radiographic film processing unit to the film digitizer and transports the radiographic film from the output of the radiographic film processing unit to the radiographic film digitizer. A method for the automatic processing and digitizing of an image-wise exposed radiographic film is also described.

Apparatus for processing and digitizing a radiographic film

To provide a simple way to control full magazine condition in apparatus where films driven to the receiving magazine rest therein one on the other, the method provides for the following steps: sending an IR light signal toward the films in the magazine; letting the signal be reflected by the last arrived film; collecting the reflected signal with a photosensor; having the photosensor emit an alarm signal when the intensity of the light collected thereby is greater than threshold value of the photosensor itself, thereby showing that the last arrived film is too near to the photosensor, because the magazine is full; repeating the above steps every time a film is fed. This method allows also film jammed detection out side the magazine.
