A boot is constituted, on the one hand, of a shell ( ), a cuff ( ) joined to the shell, the shell and the cuff presenting zones of differing rigidity ( ). The zones of lesser rigidity ( ) of the shell permitting the support, on the sides of the shell, of a rigid heel zone ( ) extending toward the front by a lateral oblique band ( ) carrying the buckles ( ). The rigid zone of the cuff comprises two lateral flaps ( ) and at least a collar ( ) wherein the rearward portion of the collar is connected to the heel by a joining component ( ) regulating the flexing and the rear support. The surface of the rigid zones is minimal.

Boot for sport involving sliding motion

Ski boot whose upper consists of a variable-volume plastic shell ( ) provided with at least one tightening device ( ). The outer side (A) of the shell has zones (A&prime;, A&Prime;) which are of substantially lower rigidity than the rest of the shell and lie on either side of a stronger band ( ) which extends obliquely from the heel to the front end of the shell and bears one of the parts of the tightening device. The effect of said band is to keep the foot bearing against the inner side of the shell, and thus to improve edge setting.

Ski boot

The sports boot has a plastic shell (1) and an inner boot (8), the shell having at least one zone (12) which is less rigid than the less of the shell. The less rigid zone is a relatively flexible zone located on the side of the shell corresponding to the outside and/or inside of the foot, so as to face the metatarsophalangeal joint of the foot.
