Disclosed are various embodiments for providing a unique user experience for a user account interacting with an electronic commerce site by dynamically generating content that is organized and presented according to various strategies (e.g., past purchases, trending items, advertisements, etc.) and/or a user context for a given shopping experience. For example, a user associated with a user account can be presented one or more grouping of items (e.g., products, goods, services, digital content, etc.) that are ranked and presented to the user according to the various strategies and the user context such that the user is presented with content that is most relevant and determined to be of interest to the particular user.

Multi-level strategy-based dynamic content generation

Disclosed are various embodiments for providing an item purchase experience for users wishing to repeat purchases of items when previously purchased items are out-of-stock or otherwise temporarily unavailable. Alternative items are identified for an item that is determined to be unavailable. A user interface is generated to include a listing of previously purchased items, including an item listing for the unavailable item. The item listing for the unavailable item further includes the alternative items for display and user interaction.

Providing alternative items for unavailable items

Disclosed are various embodiments for identifying complementary items to items available for sale, lease, download, rent, etc. by different merchants in an electronic commerce system and presenting the complementary items alongside requested items in a user interface to improve a user experience when interacting with the electronic commerce system. The user interface includes a first user interface object that includes the requested items and a second user interface object that includes the complementary items to the requested items. The complementary items are displayed in the second user interface object in vertical alignment with a position of the corresponding requested item in the first user interface object.

Disclosed are various embodiments for providing a continued item purchase experience for users wishing to repeat purchases of items when previously purchased items have been discontinued or are no longer available. A replacement item is identified for an item that is determined to be discontinued. The interaction history of the discontinued item is associated with the replacement item. A user interface is generated to include a listing of previously purchased items, including the replacement items that are arranged in a particular order. The replacement item is arranged in the user interface according to the interaction history of the discontinued item.
