A system for tire pressure monitoring has a tire valve for disposition on a rim of a vehicle and includes a tire valve stem and a tire valve base, a holding means being disposed on the tire valve base and a tire pressure monitoring unit having a housing in which a pressure sensor for measuring the tire pressure and a transmitter for wireless transmission of tire pressure data are disposed. The tire valve and the housing of the tire pressure monitoring unit can be fastened by means of a fastening element which is implemented in one piece or of the same material with the housing and which interacts with the holding means. The holding means and the fastening element are implemented such that a movement of the tire pressure monitoring unit on the tire valve base is only possible in the direction of a rim well.

Fastening device for a tire pressure monitoring system

A tire pressure monitoring system with a tire valve and a tire pressure monitoring unit includes a plastic housing, in which a pressure sensor for measuring the tire pressure and a transmitter for wirelessly transmitting tire pressure data are arranged. The tire pressure monitoring unit is attached to a stem of the tire valve and the stem comprises latching recesses, into which a latching element of the tire pressure monitoring unit engages. The latching element is realized integrally with a wall of the housing. A method for installing a tire pressure monitoring system on a rim is furthermore proposed.

A tire module and cover for attachment to a pneumatic tire for vehicles is disclosed. The tire module has a device for measuring and/or monitoring the air pressure in the tire, a transmitter, a mechanical-electrical transducer, and an accumulator for electrical energy storage. The cover includes a flange which extends outwardly away from the tire module and has an underside for attachment to the inner side of the tire, said flange forming the edge of the interior space of the cover. The inner height of the cover may be less than or equal to the height of the tire module measured from the underside to the top side thereof. The flange has an inwardly directed projection which engages beneath the tire module. The underside of the tire module is higher up in the region of the flange projection as compared to a central underside region.

Tire module with piezoelectric transducer

A tire pressure monitoring device is mounted on a wheel of a vehicle provided with a pneumatic tire. The device contains a tire pressure sensor and a transmitter which transmits signals wirelessly in transmission intervals, between which in each case there is a first transmission pause. A control device controls the sensor, the transmitter and the first transmission pause thereof. A source provides electrical energy to a rechargeable electric accumulator, in which electrical energy delivered from the source is stored until it is required. The state of charge of the rechargeable electric accumulator is monitored by a monitoring device and one or more of the first transmission causes is/are then ended as soon as enough electrical energy is stored in the rechargeable accumulator to operate the tire pressure monitoring device between two successive first transmission pauses until the conclusion of a predetermined number of transmission processes.

Method and device for operating a tire pressure monitoring device

A tire module for attachment to an inside of a pneumatic tire for vehicles includes a device for measuring and/or monitoring the air pressure in the tire. A transmitter for transmitting radio signals, which contains information regarding the air pressure in the tire, includes a mechanical-electrical transducer having a flexible piezo-electrical element, which converts alternating changes in shape of the piezo-electric element caused by the rolling tire into electric energy and includes a storage unit for the electric energy, which is connected to the transducer. The transducer may contain a circular, disc-like, piezo-electric element, which in the following is described as piezo disc and on which an electrical voltage generated through the piezo effect is tapped off on contact points which are located on opposite sides of the piezo disc.

A device for measuring the tire pressure in a wheel of a vehicle provided with a pneumatic tire is accommodated in a shell-shaped housing which is arranged at the valve base of a tire valve. Provision is made that there is only a single location on the housing by which the housing can rest on the rim well of a rim of the wheel.

A tire module, for installation on an inner side of a pneumatic tire for vehicles, including a device for measuring and/or monitoring of the air pressure in the tire, a transmitter for transmitting radio signals, which contain information about the air pressure in the tire, a mechanical-electrical converter having a bendable piezoelectric element, which converts into electric energy alternating deformations of the piezoelectric element caused by the rolling tire, and a storage device for the electric energy, which is connected to the converter. The converter includes a circular, disc-shaped, piezoelectric element (piezo disc) on which an electrical voltage generated by the piezo effect is tapped at contact points, which are situated on opposite sides of the piezo disc.
