Systems and methods for injecting tubewire into the core end of coiled tubing sections on reels. Methods are described for disposing tubewire into multiple sections of coiled tubing.

Methods for injecting or retrieving tubewire when connecting two strings of coiled tubing

A tubewire buckling mitigation assembly for use with injection of tubewire into coiled tubing. The mitigation assembly includes a passageway having a small diameter passage, an intermediate diameter section and first and second tapered transition sections.

Tubewire injection buckling mitigation

The present invention provides systems and methods for injecting or retrieving tubewire into or out of coiled tubing. The system comprises an injector, coiled tubing coupled to the injector and a pumping mechanism. The injector is adapted to apply a force to inject or retrieve the tubewire into or out of the coiled tubing while the pump pumps fluid in the direction of the force to provide fluid drag on the tubewire. The tubewire may be bent or straightened, and may include a protuberance on its free end to assist in the injection and retrieval process. During injection, the coiled tubing may remain on a reel or may be stretched out along a surface.

Systems and methods for injecting or retrieving tubewire into or out of coiled tubing

A bottom hole assembly for use with fracturing or fracing a wellbore using coiled tubing is described having a first packing element and a second packing element on a mandrel. The bottom hole assembly may be run into the wellbore such that the packing elements straddle the zone to be fraced. Also described is a timing mechanism to prevent the closing of dump ports before the bottom hole assembly may be flushed of the sand. A release tool is described that allows an operator to apply combination of force for a given amount of time to the coiled tubing to dislodge a bottom hole assembly without completely releasing the bottom hole assembly. Also disclosed is a collar locator capable of being utilized in a fracing process. Methods of using the above-described components are also disclosed.
