Various implementations disclosed herein include a distance measuring unit for measuring, on the basis of a time-of-flight signal, a distance to an object situated in a detection field. The distance measuring unit includes an emitter unit for emitting pulses in the form of electromagnetic radiation, and a receiver unit comprising a sensor area for receiving the electromagnetic radiation in the form of echo pulses, and a mirror unit disposed upstream of the sensor area, wherein a detection field of the receiver unit is subdivided into a plurality of receiver solid angle segments, and wherein the plurality of receiver solid angle segments are assigned to the same sensor area in that echo pulses incident on the mirror unit from a respective receiver solid angle segment are reflected onto the sensor area when the mirror unit is in a tilt state associated with the respective receiver solid angle segment.

Distance-measuring unit with a detection field subdivided into a plurality of receiver solid angle segments

A distance measurement performing a signal propagation time-based measurement of a distance from an object located in a sensing field, the unit including an emitter unit having a plurality of emitters for emitting pulses and a receiver unit for receiving echo pulses. The distance measurement unit is configured for measurement such that the echo pulses are associated with the different solid angle segments and at least two of the emitters emit pulses into at least some of the solid angle segments.

Various implementations disclosed herein include a distance measuring unit for signal transition time-based measurement of a distance to an object located in a detection field, with an emitter unit with multiple emitters, each designed to emit pulses in the form of electromagnetic radiation, a receiver unit for receiving the electromagnetic radiation after a distance-dependent transition time, and a tiltable mirror, wherein the distance measuring unit is configured such that a first of the emitters emits multiple pulses sequentially via the mirror, including at a first time in a first solid angle segment in a first angular position of the mirror, and at a second time in a second solid angle segment in a second angular position of the mirror; and a second of the emitters also emits a pulse in at least one of the solid angle segments via the mirror.

The disclosure relates to a method for operating a sensor arrangement including a first LIDAR and at least a second LIDAR sensor, wherein the first LIDAR sensor and the second LIDAR sensor(s) each repeatedly carry out measurements, wherein the measurements of the first and the second LIDAR sensors are carried out in respective first and second measuring time windows, at the beginning of which respective measurement beams are emitted by the first and the second LIDAR sensors and a check is made as to whether at least one reflected beam portion of the respective measurement beams is detected within the respective measuring first or second time windows.

A method for operating a sensor system may include predefining a spatial region to be detected in the surroundings of a light emission device, scanning the predefined spatial region by light beams emitted by the light emission device in different spatial directions, driving an emitter with a control unit based on a random component, emitting light beams from the emitter in the direction of a scanning unit at random points in time, and deflecting the light beams, using the scanning unit, in the different spatial directions along which the light beams leave the light emission device. The sensor system may include the control unit and the light emission device where the light emission device includes the emitter and the scanning unit.

Stochastically clocked image generation of a LIDAR system

A distance measuring unit for measurement, based on signal time of flight, of a distance to an object, includes: an emitter configured for the emission of electromagnetic pulses, and sequentially into different emitter solid angle segments of the detection field, a receiver having a first face for detecting electromagnetic radiation, and imaging optics which image the detection field onto the first sensor face, and specifically each of the emitter solid angle segments onto a respective region of the first sensor face. The emitter solid angle segments follow one another along a scan axis, and correspondingly the regions of the first sensor face also follow one another along a first scan line. The first sensor face is subdivided into at least two pixels which adjoin one another on a first separating line. The first separating line extends at least in sections obliquely with respect to the first scan line.

Distance measuring unit

A method for recognizing an object located in an object space includes emitting a distance measuring pulse into the object space by a signal time-of-flight based distance measuring unit. The object is provided with a marker which, in response to the influence of the distance measuring pulse, emits electromagnetic marker radiation in which object information for the object recognition is stored. The method further includes recording the marker radiation by an electrical radiation detector and the object information for object recognition being assigned to the object.

Wavelength conversion of primary light by means of a conversion body, a conversion device and an illumination apparatus is described herein. In some aspects, a conversion body may include a main body containing a wavelength-converting phosphor. The main body may have an irradiation surface to be irradiated by primary light. The conversion body may further include at least one conduction tract mounted on the main body outside the irradiation surface. The at least one conduction track may be electrically conductive in accordance with some aspects.

The at least one safety region occupies a position on the decoupling optical unit which corresponds to a region of high intensity of the primary light in the case of remote luminescent volume.

The invention relates to a method for operating a gas discharge lamp, in which the shape of at least one electrode of the gas discharge lamp is changed, in which by changing the lamp current for a predeterminable duration, at least one current pulse is generated such that structures which have grown on the at least one electrode are at least partially removed, the current pulse being generated for the duration of at least one entire half cycle of the AC voltage or the alternating current if the gas discharge lamp is fed AC voltage or alternating current, and the current pulse being generated with a pulse duration of between approximately 0.1 s and approximately 5 s if the gas discharge lamp is fed DC voltage or direct current.
