A coffee machine, particularly an espresso machine, comprising a brewing device () for producing and dispensing coffee via a coffee dispensing nozzle (), as well as a hot water boiler () having a fresh water supply line () and a hot water line () coming out into a brewing chamber () of the brewing device (), and a control unit (). The coffee dispensing is controllable by said control unit (). A heating element () is disposed on the hot water line () between the hot water boiler () and the brewing chamber (), by means of which heating element the water flowing from the hot water boiler () into the brewing chamber () is able to be brought to brewing temperature. The brewing temperature can thereby be maintained at a virtually constant value whereby improving the quality of the coffee dispensed.

An emulsifier suitable for emulsifying steam, air and milk for preparing frothed milk for cappuccino and similar beverages. The emulsifier comprises a first steam inlet, an air inlet, a first milk inlet, a first suction chamber and a mixing chamber. The first steam inlet, the air inlet and the first milk inlet open into the first suction chamber. The first suction chamber is in fluid communication with the mixing chamber. The emulsifier further comprises a second steam inlet, a second milk inlet and a second suction chamber. The second steam inlet and the second milk inlet open into the second suction chamber. The second suction chamber is in fluid communication with the mixing chamber for preparing hot, non-frothed milk under supply of steam to the second steam inlet.

The autoclave includes a sterilization chamber (2) to receive articles to be sterilized, which are used in medical treatment. With a door (1) the sterilization chamber (2) can be locked shut. Placed on top is a control unit (6) including a control panel (9) with control elements (10) and a card reader (11). Disposed above the control panel is an indicator panel (12) for displaying in particular device data and for guiding the user by means of an LCD. Using chip cards, which have an electronic component with a non-volatile memory, and which can be electrically connected to the card reader permitting data exchange with the control unit, special sterilization programs can be run, the authorization to use the autoclave can be checked, and further functions, such as blocking or enabling individual control elements, can be executed.

A control panel (14) contains four control levers (18). A control valve having a valve slide (55) capable of sliding in a valve sleeve (79) is assigned to each control lever (18). An electric motor (68) on whose drive shaft (70) a bevel gear (64) is mounted in a rotationally solid manner is also provided for each control lever (18). The bevel gear (64) engages with another bevel gear (66) that is connected with a shaft journal (62) in a rotationally solid manner. A follower pin (72) is eccentrically mounted in the shaft journal (64); it passes through one end of a push rod (57) and projects into a groove (73) in a shaft journal (58) passed through by the assigned control lever (18). In this manner, the two shaft journals (58, 62) are connected with each other through the follower pin (72) in a rotational manner. The other end of the push rod (57) is connected through a coupling (75) with a piston rod (56) that is in turn fastened to the valve slide (55). In the arrangement described above, the control valve can be actuated at any time either by the control lever (18) or the electric motor (68). The simultaneous action of the control lever and the electric motor on the control valve is also possible without damage resulting thereby.
