Described is a hearing device configured to be worn by a user, the hearing device having a battery compartment configured to house a battery and a microphone, wherein the battery compartment is located in a housing. The housing includes: a casing configured to form the battery compartment; and a lid member having a hinged end pivotally connected to the casing such that the lid member is configured to pivot between an open position and a closed position relative to the casing; wherein the lid member is formed to define an opening through the lid member; wherein, when the lid member is in the closed position, the opening is configured to allow the microphone to be in air communication with ambient air.

An illustrative hearing device may include a battery compartment located in a housing and including a microphone and a battery. The housing may include a casing forming the battery compartment and a lid member having a hinged end pivotally connected to the casing such that the lid member is configured to pivot between an open position and a closed position relative to the casing. The lid member may be formed to define an opening through the lid member that is configured to allow the microphone and the battery to be in air communication with ambient air when the lid member is in the closed position.

A method of manufacturing a faceplate for a hearing device, the faceplate configured to cover a lateral opening of a housing of the hearing device and having a side which is laterally oriented when the hearing device is worn at least partially in the ear canal, including the steps of: providing a faceplate base part including a first surface, a faceplate insertion part including a second surface, and a printed circuit board ('PCB') with an antenna; inserting the antenna PCB into the faceplate base part so that that the antenna PCB extends along the first surface; inserting the faceplate insertion part into the faceplate base part so that the second surface of the faceplate insertion part pushes the antenna PCB against the first surface of the faceplate base part; and fixing the faceplate insertion part within the faceplate base part so as to form the faceplate.

A cerumen protection plug for a hearing device. The cerumen protection plug prevents cerumen from passing along a sound conduit in the hearing device and blocking sound output from a receiver in the hearing device. The cerumen protection plug includes a circular plug containing a cerumen barrier. A positioning handle allows the cerumen barrier to be positioned along the sound conduit, where it prevents cerumen that has entered the sound conduit from traveling along the sound conduit to the receiver or an output port of the receiver.

A tool for replacing a cerumen filter in a sound conduit of a hearing aid. The tool is designed to position a cerumen filter along the sound conduit and to couple with and remove a cerumen filter that has been positioned along the sound conduit. The tool comprises an insertion tip and an removal tip, both configured to fit inside the sound conduit and to couple or engage with an engagement body extending centrally from the cerumen filter. The tool may be in the form of a stylus with the insertion tip on one and the removing tip on the other end. The tool may also be in the form of a disc dispenser with a plurality of insertion and removal tips attached to the dispenser and accessible for use by rotating plates making up the disc dispenser.

The module includes at least two side walls opposing each other. The side walls are provided with a first engagement means, and the side walls are deformable such to allow engagement of the first engagement means and a second engagement means formed on an anchoring portion of the removal tool.

A hearing device to be worn in or at the ear of a user. The hearing device includes a housing for accommodating an electronic component, wherein the housing includes an electromagnetic wave shielding material and is formed with an indentation. The indentation provides a space at the outer side of the housing, allowing an antenna to be inserted into the indentation. The proposed hearing device achieves improved shielding of the antenna against electromagnetic waves radiated from at least one of the electronic components.

The present invention relates to a dome () for use with a receiver assembly (). The dome () comprises a core () and a shell (), wherein the core () and the shell () are made of different materials, the material of the core () is rigid and the material of the shell () is soft, and wherein the dome () is connectable to the receiver assembly () by means of a threaded connection (). Therefore, connecting and separating the dome () to and from the receiver assembly () can be simplified in a secure and easy operation performed by the user.

Provided is a method of mounting at least one hearing device component () inside a hearing device shell (). Said method comprises the steps of threading a fixture means () through a hole () formed in the wall of the hearing device shell () and attaching the hearing device component () to the end of the portion of the fixture means () protruding into the inside of the hearing device shell (). The method further comprises manipulating the portion of the fixture means () protruding to the outside of the hearing device shell () such to position the hearing device component () in a predetermined position, and fixing the positioned hearing device component () to the inner wall of the hearing device shell ().

The hearing device comprises at least one microphone () arranged within the housing () of the hearing device, with its sound inlet aperture (') being connected via a canal () to the outside of the housing () and a sound permeable cover () serving as microphone protection that is arranged in the region of the outlet opening of said canal (). The canal () of the hearing device is provided as a blind hole and the microphone () is arranged at the side of said canal () and at least one opening or channel () is provided connecting said canal () with said sound inlet aperture (&#x2032;) of said microphone (). By providing the canal () as a blind hole, all dirt eventually intruding the canal () will be collected at the bottom (&#x2033;) of canal () and will therefore not reach directly the microphone () or the sound inlet openings of the microphone () respectively.
