A suction and cooling system for a spinning frame having a plurality of spinning units arranged along a frame. The suction and cooling system includes a first collecting channel and an independent second collecting channel and exhaust means coupled to the first collecting channel and exhaust means coupled to the second collecting channel. The first exhaust means draw a first air stream into the first collecting channel from primarily the area around the drafting system of the spinning units. The first air stream comprises primarily reusable fibers and a filter may be provided for filtering out the reusable fibers. The second exhaust means draws an independent second air stream from primarily the area around the thread guiding device of the spinning units and from around the spindle drive means, thereby serving the dual function of collecting waste fly and cooling the spindle drive means. A second filter device may be provided in the second collecting channel for removing generally waste fiber fly material.

Ring spinning or twisting frame with suction installation

In the donning and doffing operation of a spinning machine, a tube (20) is pushed onto a packaged tube (14), whereby the thread (7) remains unbroken. The package (14) and the tube (20) are rotated together, until a few turns of the thread (7) are wound on to the tube (20). The tube (20) is subsequently held and the packaged tube containing the package (14) is removed. Subsequently, the empty spindle (15) is guided into the tube (20) for subsequent spinning operations without the necessity for removing overwindings which normally occur.

Method and device for exchange of full thread packages

The drive system connects a servomotor via a clutch to a shaft after the motor has started up from a standstill to a speed in synchronism with the supply frequency to the servomotor. The clutch may also be actuated to disengage the servomotor from the shaft when the servomotor is slowed to a predetermined speed during stopping of the servomotor. A transmission is employed between the servomotor and the shaft to compensate for any shocks to the motor when engaging the clutch.

Synchronizable drive system

The textile machine has a cooling fluid circuit for dissipating heat from the heat-emitting parts of the textile machine. The cooling circuit has a coil disposed within an air duct of the textile machine from which the air can be blown to the outside. A longitudinally extending fly suction duct may also be used for cooling the cooling fluid of a cooling circuit used to cool the motor and convertor of the textile machine. The fly duct thus serves to remove heat as well as fly from the machine.

Method and apparatus for dissipating heat from a textile machine

The cap of a cap spinning device comprises a thread introduction attachment in the top or upper region of the cap. In this thread introduction attachment there is arranged an inlet passage which is upwardly directed at an inclination and provided for the thread coming from the drafting arrangement via a thread eye, so that a balloon is formed between the thread eye and the top or upper side of the cap.

A one piece supporting element has a pair of elongated strips to engage within a bobbin tube with a force sufficient to prevent dropping off of the tube during conveyance through a vertically dependent position. The supporting element is mounted in cantilever fashion via a cross-piece at the proximal end which fits into a recess of a carrier on a conveyor.

Bobbin tube support

An arrangement for supplying bobbins to at least one tender which is situated at one of two loading stations that are disposed at opposite sides of an elongated textile machine from one another comprises a feeding chute which extends from a transfer location at a downward inclination to a distribution location, at which a diverting device is arranged and is operated to selectively divert the bobbins arriving at the distribution location into one or the other of two paths which lead from the distribution location to respective loading stations, depending on the presence of the tender to be loaded with the bobbins at the respective loading station. One of the two paths is advantageously formed by a continuation of the chute, while the other path commences at an opening of the bottom wall of the chute at the distribution location, which is closed by a movable wall in one of its positions, while the movable wall uncovers the opening in its other position and simultaneously blocks the entry of the bobbins into the continuation of the chute. The bobbins are supplied to the transfer location from a bulk container for the bobbins by an elevator in such orientation that the longitudinal axes of the bobbins extend parallel to the longitudinal axis of the machine.

Bobbin loading arrangement

The starting or re-piecing of a yarn in an open end spinning machine is accomplished during full speed rotation of the spinning unit. A travelling piecer provides a fixed length of yarn to be back-fed into the spinning unit. A control which is responsive to the speed of rotation of the spinning unit causes the nip rolls to close together in order to deliver the new yarn from the spinning unit at the operating speed of the spinning unit.

Open-end yarn piecer

Each of the spinning stations is provided with a profile locating element or marker as well as a signal lamp for indicating a disturbance in a spinning unit. The service tender carries a locating device which includes a spring biased body which is capable of moving perpendicularly to the direction of movement of the service tender towards a spinning unit to which the service tender has been called. The body carries a pair of rollers which are mounted on a pivotable turntable so as to be pivoted when passing over a locating element of a spinning station. The locating device serves to generate signals for braking the service tender to a halt in alignment with a selected spinning station. The service tender also carries an anchoring system which uses a plate coated with a layer of friction material for engaging a rail on which the service tender moves for securing the tender in an aligned position with a spinning station.

An arrangement for handling conical thread packages includes a sensing device which senses the orientation in which the package arrives on a main conveyor to a juncture with an accumulating auxiliary conveyor, and a manipulating device capable of gripping the package and reorienting it if needed to obtain the desired orientation of the package on the auxiliary conveyor. A removing device may be provided to engage a group of the packages accumulated with the desired orientation on the auxiliary conveyor and to transfer such group to a receiving conveyor in such a manner that the packages are deposited in the container in respective layers with orientations which are the same in each layer but opposite in directly superimposed layers.

Arrangements for handling conical thread packages

The travelling piecer carries a lever to separate the nip rollers, a yarn reserve forming device to receive the yarn and a threading device for threading a broken yarn from a package between the nip rolls and through the yarn reserve forming device. The piecer also has a control which effects a piecing operation in which a clutch is actuated to feed fiber into the spinning unit while yarn is back-fed into the unit from the yarn reserve. At the completion of a predetermined time period (T) the nip rolls are re-engaged to withdraw the re-pieced yarn.

A travelling service device of a yarn processing machine is equipped with a bobbin magazine for receiving a multitude of sticks of conical bobbin tubes which are telescopically nested within one another. The magazine includes a conveyor belt which extends along and can be moved in an endless path and which carries a multitude of bounding elements which bound respective compartments, each for receiving one of the sticks for movement with the belt. At a predetermined location of the endless path, there is provided an arrangement for removing the respective stick from the associated compartment, and for transferring such stick to an arrangement for separating the individual tubes from the stick for subsequent feeding to the respective station of the machine. The compartments may be arranged so that their axes extend normal to the trajectory of movement of the travelling service device, in whic case the removing arrangement includes an arrangement for turning te stick through 90.degree. in a horizontal plane before the transfer to the separating arrangement, or so that their axes are parallel to the trajectory, in which case no such turning arrangement is needed. The magazine may be hingedly mounted on the service device for displacement between two end positions in one of which it conceals, and in the other of which it exposes, an end wall of the service device.

Bobbin magazine for a travelling service device of a yarn processing

The travelling piecer is constructed to accomodate piecing of a thread which is broken during winding onto a thread package or to accomodate starting of a fresh package on a bobbin. The piecer includes a suction nozzle to find a broken yarn end from a package, a centering mechanism for positioning the located yarn in a predetermined position and a threading device for forming the located yarn into a loop. A carrier for an auxiliary yarn package is also provided with a roller pair for feeding a yarn from a package and a second suction nozzle for manipulating the auxiliary yarn into a predetermined position extending from the first nozzle for interception by the centering mechanism.

Each of the spinning stations is provided with a cradle having a pair of arms which are pivotally mounted on a carrier. The service tender is provided with a pair of light beam emitter/receiver units so that when the tender is called to and aligned with a specific spinning station one emitter/receiver unit is able to detect the presence of the carrier in a raised position while the second emitter/receiver unit is able to detect the presence or absence of a yarn package or bobbin tube on the cradle. The service tender is operable in response to the combination of signals received from a calling station at the spinning station and the signals received from the emitter/receiver units.

Automat location system

Each cover of a spinning station is provided with a rail element for guiding the service tender along the aligned spinning stations. In addition, the service tender carries a guide means in the form of a roller which has a cylindrical part to roll on the rail element of the covers when the covers are in a closed position as well as a frusto-conical part for rolling on the rail elements when the covers are in an open condition.
