A hybrid switch apparatus includes a standard semiconductor switch and a fast semiconductor switch electrically arranged in parallel to form a joint output current path for carrying a load current. The standard switch may be a silicon (Si) MOSFET while the fast switch may be a GaN high electron mobility transistor (HEMT). A means for producing first and second gate drive signals includes a pulse former. The first gate drive signal is applied the standard switch for selectively turning the standard switch on and off. The pulse former outputs the second gate drive signal for driving the fast switch, where the pulse former generates the second gate drive signal as a switch-on pulse starting synchronously with each transition of the first gate drive signal and which generates the second gate drive signal in an OFF state in between pulses to avoid incurring a conduction loss in the fast switch.

Hybrid switch control

An electrical connector, or coupling, includes a connecting lug (1) formed as a tongue-shaped metal plate which has a substantially slit-shaped recess (3) for receiving a wire. In an area of the recess a stamping is made in the connecting lug (1). By these means also wires with particularly small cross sections can be coupled to the connecting lug (1) by a force fit (friction) and a shape-interlock.

Electrical connector

A process for the adjustment of various components of a relay involves use of measuring devices which monitor the respective components as they are slid, or shoved, into mounting positions and, in response to the components achieving correct, or desired, positions, automatically issue signals to welding apparatus to automatically weld the components in these desired positions relative to a base plate. The process of this invention is particularly suited for uncomplicated, cost-effective and fully automatic adjustments of relay components during their assembly, and this is particularly true for small-structure, or micro, relays.

Process for the adjustment of various components of a relay

An electromagnetic relay having an uncomplicated and cost-effective construction includes a switching contact spring (5) that is adjustable in a particularly uncomplicated manner for controlling actuation sensitivity. In this manner, in particular, actuation can be influenced by a value of a minimum attraction voltage.

Electromagnetic relay and method of adjusting same

An electromagnetic relay has a normally-open contact tongue (2) with at least one finger (24a) which, during mounting, is first slidably engaged in a drawer-cavity-forming element (25). After adjusting a normally-open contact (3) relative to a movable switch-contact (4a) the position of the at least one finger is affixed in the drawer-cavity-forming element so that the position of the normally-open contact is fixed. The relay of this invention is characterized by having a particularly uncomplicated structure and by allowing a particularly uncomplicated, cost-effective, and fully-automated adjustment of the normally-open contact.
