A method for delivering an optimized acoustic signal to a targeted sound field includes determining a bright zone having a high acoustic energy sound delivery region and a dark zone having low acoustic energy sound delivery region. The system selects a finite impulse response (FIR) filter set associated with a plurality of loudspeakers, and generates, via the plurality of loudspeakers and based on the FIR filter set, an acoustic signal having a sound pressure due to the combined loudspeakers (p) at an observation point r in a sound field disposed in the bright zone. The acoustic signal is delivered such that the sound pressure due to the combined loudspeakers at the observation point is approximately equal to unity acoustic energy at the observation point when the sound pressure due to the combined loudspeakers is generated via a single loudspeaker of the plurality of loudspeakers, and the remaining loudspeakers of the plurality of loudspeakers are off.

A Fourier space excursion-from-voltage transfer function H(&#x3c9;) is determined, whose form is constrained by parameters H(&#x3c9;), Bl, R, and L, where: Rcomprises a resistance of the voice coil; and Lcomprises an inductance of the voice coil. Filter coefficients are determined using H(&#x3c9;), which are used in a filter applied to an input signal for the loudspeaker.

Method, system and apparatus for loudspeaker excursion domain processing

A method, system and apparatus for loudspeaker excursion domain processing and thermal limiting are provided. At a device comprising: a processor; a loudspeaker and voice coil, device(s) for determining loudspeaker voltage and current; a volume device; and a memory storing a Bl product for the loudspeaker, a Fourier space excursion-from-voltage transfer function H(&#x3c9;) is determined. An acoustic response of the loudspeaker below a dovetail frequency, is determined, relative to a respective acoustic response at the dovetail frequency, using at least a second time derivative of the transfer function H(&#x3c9;). An equalization is determined using the acoustic response, comprising gains that, when applied to the acoustic response, will adjust the acoustic response to the respective acoustic response at the respective acoustic response at the dovetail frequency. Filter coefficients are determined corresponding to the equalization, which are used in a filter applied to a loudspeaker input signal.

A low magnetic interference battery is provided, the battery insertable into a mobile communication device, the mobile communication device comprising a radio interconnected with a microphone and a receiver. The battery comprises a battery portion enabled to provide electrical power to the radio, the battery portion emitting a magnetic field when in operation. The battery further comprises a sealing portion for sealing the battery portion therein such that the battery portion is protected from moisture, the sealing portion comprising a magnetic shield portion arranged relative to the battery portion such that magnetic flux from the battery portion is routed away from the receiver when the battery is in operation in the mobile communication device.

Various embodiments are described herein for an electrode assembly for a stacked-cell battery. The electrode assembly comprises a first active material layer; a first current collector layer adjacent to and in electrical contact with an outer surface of the first active material layer; a tab element having an end lead portion and a second lead portion, the end lead portion being in electrical contact with at least one of the first active material layer and the first current collector layer, and the second lead portion extending away from the end lead portion and being substantially adjacent to a surface of at least one of the first active material layer and the first current collector layer and is adapted to provide an electrical connection to the electrode assembly; and an insulative layer covering an inner contact area of the second lead portion to electrically insulate this portion of the tab element.

Apparatus, systems and methods for mitigating vibration of an electronic device

An illustrative embodiment provides an apparatus comprising a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator, a first conductor, and a second conductor. The positive electrode and the negative electrode are separated by the separator. The first conductor is configured to transmit a first electrical current from the positive electrode. Also, the second conductor is configured to transmit a second electrical current from the negative electrode. A direction of the first electrical current transmitted through the first conductor is substantially opposite to a direction of the second electrical current transmitted through the second conductor. A magnitude of the first electrical current is substantially equal to a magnitude of the second electrical current. The first and second conductors are proximate to one another and a first portion of one of the first and second conductors is located inside the case along a separation distance, and a second portion of the one of the first and second conductors is located outside the case along the separation distance.

A communication device, and battery there for, are provided. In at least one of the battery and the communication device is provided a magnetic shield portion for routing magnetic flux away from the receiver when the radio is in operation. The magnetic shield portion can be incorporated into at least one of the battery and the communication device. When the battery is inserted into mobile communication device, the magnetic shield portion is located substantially between a battery portion, in the battery, and the receiver.

Low magnetic interference battery and mobile communication device

A battery has an electrode assembly that includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a layer of electrolyte between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. An electric current flow in the positive electrode is unmatched to an electric current flow in the negative electrode, thereby producing a first magnetic field. A magnetic compensation structure is adjacent to the electrode assembly and has body of electrically conductive material connected to one of the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The electric current flowing through the electrode assembly also flows through the body in a pattern that matches the pattern of unmatched electric current in the electrode assembly. As a result a second magnetic field is produced by the magnetic compensation structure that opposes the first magnetic field thereby mitigating magnetic noise from the battery.

In at least one of the battery and the communication device is provided a magnetic shield portion for routing magnetic flux away from the receiver when the radio is in operation. The magnetic shield portion can be incorporated into at least one of the battery and the communication device. When the battery is inserted into mobile communications devicemobile communication device, the magnetic shield portion is located substantially between a battery portion, in the battery, and the receiver.

A connection verification system that provides substantially non-intrusive connection verification for an optical switch, achieved by correlating the low-frequency contents of the input and switched signals. The results of the correlation process are compared against a connection map to determine whether the switch has operated correctly and to identify, if possible, which mis-connections have taken place. The system includes a selection unit for controllably admitting individual ones of the input signals and individual ones of the switched signals and a verification unit connected to the selection unit, for controlling operation of the selection unit as a function of a connection map and performing relative-delay-dependent signal processing operations on the signals admitted by the selection unit so as to identify connections established through the switching unit and determine their consistency with the connection map. The relative-delay-dependent signal processing operations may be based on correlation or anti-correlation, depending on the operational requirements of the invention.

Connection verification for optical switches

An electric field proximity detector capable of detecting partially conductive or conductive objects regardless of their impedance to circuit ground. The detector has a sensor with a transmitting electrode, a receiving electrode, and at least one circuit ground electrode preferably arranged in a bulls-eye configuration with the ground electrode between the transmitter and receiver electrodes. With appropriate sizing, upon the approach of an object, a signal received by the receiving electrode decreases, at least until the object is within a threshold distance of the sensor. The size and positioning of the ground electrode further reduces the effects of stray capacitance.
