At least one example embodiment provides a low-voltage circuit breaker for interrupting a low-voltage circuit. The low-voltage circuit breaker includes at least one first current sensor configured to determine a magnitude of an electrical current of the low-voltage circuit, an interruption unit with contacts configured to interrupt the low-voltage circuit, an electronic trip unit connected to the first current sensor and the interruption unit and configured in such a way that an interruption of the low-voltage circuit is instigated upon current or/and current period limit values being exceeded, and a power supply unit configured to supply power to the electronic trip unit and to at least one additional component of the low-voltage circuit breaker, wherein a second current sensor is between the power supply unit and the at least one additional component, said second current sensor configured to determine the magnitude of the current of the additional component.

Low-voltage circuit breaker and method

A circuit breaker, for interrupting an electrical circuit including electrical conductors, includes an energy converter, a primary side being formed by a conductor and a secondary side being connected to a power supply; a sensor for determining the level of the electric current of an electrical conductor; and a controller, connected to the power supply and the sensor, to cause an interruption of the electrical circuit when current limit values or current/time period limit values are exceeded. The secondary side of the energy converter is connected to the input of a measurement circuit, the output of the energy converter being connected to the controller. The measurement circuit determines an amount of energy and delivers this to the controller, the controller comparing the amount of energy with the level of the current determined by the sensor and emitting a warning signal when a first threshold value is exceeded.

Circuit breaker and method for emitting a warning upon a threshold being exceeded

A circuit breaker is for interrupting an electric circuit if settable protective parameters are exceeded. In an embodiment, the circuit breaker includes an electronic trip unit, in which the set protective parameters are stored, with a movable sealing pane, which covers at least part of the circuit breaker. The circuit breaker further includes a sensor with which a first state of the sealing pane can be ascertained. The electronic trip unit is designed such that changes to the protective parameters are accepted by the electronic trip unit only in the first state of the sealing pane.

Circuit breaker

A circuit breaker for a low-voltage circuit is disclosed. In an embodiment, the circuit breaker includes a current conductor, assigned a measuring transducer for measuring the electrical current of the current conductor; a first filter connected to the measuring transducer; an analog/digital converter connected to the first filter; a second, high-pass filter connected to the analog/digital converter; and a digital integrator, connected to the high-pass filter and configured to determine the electrical current of the current conductor.

A circuit breaker includes at least one coil for measuring electric current of an electrical conductor of an electrical circuit, connected to a control unit which compares the measured current or its equivalent with a first current limit value. Upon the first current limit value being exceeded, the control unit initiates an interruption of the electrical circuit. The two terminals of the coil are connected via a series circuit which has a first switch opened in its basic state, a voltage source and a voltage indicator. The control unit is designed such that, when a second current limit value is undercut and a first period of time is exceeded, the first switch is closed for a second period of time, the voltage indicator compares the voltage present with a first voltage value and, when the latter is exceeded, delivers information on the absence of faults of the coil.

Circuit breaker and method

An electric switch is disclosed, in particular an electric circuit breaker. In at least one example embodiment, the switch includes a measuring channel for measuring an electric measured variable and is switched off when the result of a measurement reaches or exceeds a limit value. To test the mode of operation of the measuring channel, the electric measured variable is switched to a reference channel and a reference signal source is switched to the measuring channel and the reference result obtained via the measuring channel is compared with a reference setpoint. The switch is also tripped if, to test the mode of operation of the measuring channel, the electric measured variable is switched to the reference channel and the result obtained via the reference channel reaches or exceeds the limit value.

Electric switch

An electrical switch is disclosed, including a switch housing and a busbar routed through a housing opening in the switch housing. In at least one embodiment, a contact element is present for making electrical contact with the busbar, the contact element being clamped in between the busbar and the switch housing in the housing opening.

A power circuit breaker is disclosed wherein an electric current is monitored by an electronic trip unit in order to detect an electrical fault. In an embodiment, a first magnetic device of the power circuit breaker, in the event of a fault being detected, is configured to be excited which, when it is excited, trips a trip mechanism via a plunger. As a result of tripping, the trip mechanism disconnects two contacts via which the current flows. The power circuit breaker of an embodiment includes a second magnetic device which is likewise able to be excited by the ETU and by which the trip mechanism is likewise able to be tripped.
