Systems and methods are provided for generating an MBSSID virtual access point (VAP) to facilitate an uninterrupted MBSSID. An access point (AP) can determine characteristics, or network properties, of VAPs associated with the AP. The AP can generate an MBSSID VAP based on the characteristics of the VAPs. An MBSSID beacon can be generated using the MBSSID VAP as a transmitted VAP (TX VAP) of the MBSSID beacon. The MBSSID VAP serves as a TX-VAP that is not subject to changes and does not need to be interrupted to have changes made to it. As the MBSSID VAP serves as a TX VAP that is not subject to changes or interruptions, the MBSSID based on the MBSSID VAP does not need to be interrupted for changes to be made to other VAPs associated with the MBSSID.

Uninterrupted multiple basic service set identifiers

Systems and methods are provided for frame burst overlapping basic service set (OBSS) handling. In various embodiments, the disclosed methods and systems provide for synchronizing access points (APs) in the same channel. Based on the synchronizing, the APs in the same OBSS channel can determine a distribution policy for using frame bursting. Each AP can use frame bursting in accordance with the distribution policy. In various embodiments, the APs can periodically send frame burst synchronization packets. The frame burst synchronization packets can indicate respective numbers of client devices associated with each AP. Based on the frame burst synchronization packets sent by the APs, a total number of client devices using the same channel can be determined. The distribution policy for using frame bursting can be determined based on the total number of client devices.

Frame burst overlapping basic service set handling

Systems, methods, and computer readable mediums for persistent TWT sessions include establishing, by an access point, a plurality of sessions with a plurality of stations, wherein one or more of the plurality of sessions comprise a target wake time (TWT), determining, by the access point, that a downtime event will occur before a TWT of a particular station of the plurality of stations, in response to the downtime event occurring during the TWT of the particular station, sending, by the access point, information associated with the plurality of sessions to a secondary device, after the downtime event, retrieving, by the access point, the information associated with the plurality of sessions from the secondary device, and reestablishing, by the access point using the information, the plurality of sessions.

Persistent TWT sessions

Implementations of the present disclosure relate to resource allocation for clients of multiple co-hosted virtual access points (VAPs). A method comprises determining, by an access point (AP), a plurality of trigger frames for a plurality of clients connected to a plurality of VAPs of the AP based at least in part on respective workload levels of the plurality of clients. A trigger frame indicates a resource unit of one of the plurality of VAPs available for at least one corresponding client to access to the VAP. The method also comprises transmitting, by the AP, the plurality of trigger frames in parallel to the plurality of clients. By transmitting separate trigger frames for different clients in parallel, the efficiency of trigger frames can be improved and higher quality of service and lower collision will be provided.

Resource allocation for clients of multiple co-hosted VAPs

Systems, methods, and computer readable mediums for a TWT based multi-connection mechanism include sending, by a station, a first request for a first Target Wake Time (TWT) session with a first access point, wherein the first TWT session is established, determining, by the station and based on the first TWT session, a timing for a second TWT session such that a plurality of service periods of the first TWT session do not overlap with a plurality of service periods of the second TWT session, sending, by the station, a second request for the second Target Wake Time (TWT) session with a second access point, and wherein the second. TWT session is established, and receiving, by the station, data from the first AP during a service period of the first TWT session and data from the second AP during a service period of the second TWT session.

TWT based multi-connection mechanism

Systems and methods are provided for adaptively enabling and disabling spatial reuse and adapting BSS color assignments based on various factors associated with a wireless network. A first AP in a wireless network can identify a second AP in a wireless network. The first AP and the second AP may be using the same wireless channel in the wireless network. The first AP can determine a signal strength, such as a received signal strength indicator (RSSI), associated with the second AP. The first AP can adapt its spatial reuse and BSS color assignment according to the signal strength and a signal strength threshold. By adaptively enabling and disabling spatial reuse and adapting BSS color assignments, the disclosed systems and methods provide for improved reuse of wireless mediums while avoiding collisions.

Adaptive spatial reuse

Implementations of the present disclosure relate to resource unit (RU) assignment to combat frequency selective fading. A method comprises determining, at an access point (AP), a plurality of channel qualities of a plurality of resource units (RUs) for a client. The plurality of RUs are configured to be available for communications with a plurality of clients comprising the client. The method further comprises determining, from the plurality of RUs, a target RU for the client based at least in part on the plurality of channel qualities. The target RU is to be used by the client for a following transmission with the AP. A target RU with good channel quality will be assigned to the client, thus the transmission and overall system performance will be enhanced.

Resource unit assignment for selective fading

A method for improving dynamic frequency selection (DFS) includes receiving, by an access point, a plurality of pulses in a DFS channel of the access point, determining, by the access point, a plurality of characteristics of the plurality of pulses, varying, by the access point, a threshold for radar detection, and determining, by the access point and based on at least one of the plurality of characteristics, whether the plurality of pulses are radar.

DFS radar detection

Systems and methods are provided for learning radio frequency pulses transmitted at various frequencies in a wireless environment, including false radar signals and actual radar. For example, the system can keep a list of radio frequency pulse characteristics detected by access points (APs) but ignored when not declared a radar. The detected radio frequency pulse can be compared with those on the list and may be added to the deny-list if not radar. The AP learns what intervals are normal for the communication environment and if the noise someday looks like a real radar (but it not actually a radar), it will not be classified as radar because it is on the deny-list.

Environment-learning false radar detection

Systems and methods are provided for multiple basic service set identifier (MBSSID) beaconing (from an access point (AP) standpoint) and MBSSID/virtual AP (VAP) scanning (from a client device perspective). To facilitate easier discovery of mesh APs/VAPs, BSSIDs associated with mesh VAPs can be advertised more frequently, e.g., being broadcast as a transmitted or non-transmitted BSSID in each MBSSID beacon. Additionally, information regarding mesh VAPs, such as mesh capability information, can be provided via intermediate discovery beacons or frames such that out-of-band scanning mechanisms can discover mesh VAPs faster. Additionally still, the existence of mesh VAPs can be advertised in a dedicated field of an MBSSID beacon.

Systems and methods for enhancing mesh over Wi-Fi 6E

Examples of techniques for handling fine time measurement ranging requests are described. In an example, an access point (AP) may receive a ranging request for initiating a Fine Timing Measurement (FTM) session. The AP may modify a channel width of a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) channel on which the AP is operating from a first channel width to a second channel width for performing the FTM session, where the second channel width is greater than the first channel width. In response to completion of an FTM burst associated with the FTM session, the AP may restore the channel width of the WLAN channel to the first channel width for performing non-FTM operations of the AP.

Fine timing measurements in enterprise deployments using high bandwidth channels

Examples of techniques for handling fine time measurement ranging requests are described. In an example, an access point (AP) may receive a ranging request for initiating a Fine Timing Measurement (FTM) session. Responsive to determining that the client device is associated with the AP, it is determined that the ranging request is received after a threshold time from expiry of an FTM burst period of the client device. It is determined that the ranging request is within an FTM acceptance threshold of the AP. A number of consecutive unsuccessful FTM bursts between the AP and the client device is determined. In response to determining that the number of consecutive unsuccessful FTM bursts is less than an unsuccessful burst threshold of the AP, the FTM session may be initiated based on the ranging request.

Prevention of denial of service attacks using FTM requests

Embodiments are directed to intelligent scheduling of Wi-Fi services for applications. An embodiment of computer-readable storage mediums includes instructions for receiving data packets from multiple connected devices at a wireless access point and identifying an application traffic flow for each data packet; assigning each data packet to a respective queue of a first set of queues based on an identified application traffic flow for each data packet; selecting data packets from the first set of queues based on priorities for each of multiple applications; generating prioritized candidate lists for selected data packets in a second set of queues, each queue being dedicated for an access category for one or more application; and scheduling data packets from the candidate lists, including selecting a transmission mode for each access category based on characteristics of the one or more applications.

Intelligent scheduling of Wi-Fi services for applications

Embodiments are directed to a dynamic radar detection threshold for stateful dynamic frequency selection (DFS). An embodiment of a storage medium includes instructions to operations including estimate a duty time of transmission of wireless signals by an access point, the access point to provide Wi-Fi communication, the wireless signals being communicated on a DFS channel of the access point, adapt, based at least in part on the duty time of transmission, a threshold of radar signals to indicate detection of a radar signal at the access point on the DFS channel, and perform analysis of received wireless signals on the DFS channel at the access point to detect the radar signal using the adapted threshold of radar signals.

Dynamic radar detection threshold for stateful dynamic frequency selection

Examples provided herein describe a method for managing power consumption of a network. For example, a network device may monitor a set of network area zones of a network coverage area, where each network area zone is associated with a set of edge devices. A first occupancy state may be determined for a first network area zone of the set of network area zones based on usage of a first set of edge devices of the first network area zone. Based on the determined first occupancy state, a first power consumption policy for the first network area zone may be determined. Responsive to determining the first power consumption policy, the determined first power consumption policy may be applied to the first set of edge devices in the first network area zone at least edge changing a power consumption mode of a first edge device in the first set of edge devices.
