Disclosed is a variable supersonic nozzle for a turbojet engine having an improved control system for varying the convergent and divergent nozzle flaps. All of the flaps are supported on several beams about the circumference of a gas passage. A control linkage interconnects hydraulic control cylinders, which are also mounted on the beams, with the convergent and divergent flaps such that, as the piston rod of the hydraulic control system extends and retracts, the angles of the flaps are varied accordingly. Additionally, cold flaps may be attached to the beams and interconnected with the linkage system such that their positions may also be varied by the control cylinder.

Supersonic nozzle for a turbojet engine

An exhaust nozzle assembly for a turbojet engine is described wherein the position of a series of nozzle flaps is controlled by control levels interconnected with an actuating cylinder. The control levers are transversely interconnected in order to synchronize the movement of the flaps and to also permit variation in the transverse distance between adjacent control members. A linkage mechanism is also disclosed which permits the actuation of a second series of flaps from the interconnected control members.

Exhaust nozzle assembly for a turbojet engine

The device is composed of a conical section located on the edge of the disk rim. The greatest radius of the conical section is at least equal to the radius of the circumference passing through the bottom of the axial grooves into which the blade roots are inserted. A groove is formed in the end of the lower part of the root, this groove having a right angle triangular section. A locking part has one face pressed against the bearing and two other faces against the sides of the groove in the root. A blade extending longitudinally in the locking part works together with a groove in the slot of the blade root to keep the locking part in place.

Axial locking device for turbomachine blades

A sealing device disposed between two turbomachine elements traversed by gases, particularly between a combustion chamber and a high pressure turbine nozzle support. The device includes an independent collar supported by first and second bearing surfaces on the elements which are to be connected in leaktight manner, the collar being constructed of a material having a thermal expansion coefficient which is different from that of the elements which it interconnects so as to ensure a leaktight connection between the elements.

An emergency aerosol lubrication device, particularly for airborne engines which includes a mechanism for placing a certain quantity of oil in reserve, an operator-controlled mechanism for atomizing oil in an aerosol container, which is connected to the points to be lubricated, a member for supplying the atomization mechanism with oil drawn from the reserve, and a mechanism for keeping the reserve oil at a suitable temperature.

An exhaust duct for a thrust jet engine, such as a rocket or gas turbine, which an acoustic and/or thermal protection lining is situated coaxially within a support element of the duct and is deformable radially relative to the support member, and preferably also adapted for relieving axial differential expansion stresses between the lining and the support element.

Thermal responsive noise suppressor for exhaust duct

A variable section exhaust nozzle for jet engines which has two sets of fs at the edge of the nozzle opening, one set spanning the spaces between the flaps of the other set. Both sets of flaps are hinged to the nozzle on tangential axes. Fluid-operated jacks are serially connected to define a polygon around and outwardly of the flaps. Levers connect the jacks to the outer set of flaps so that radial expansion or contraction of the polygon, by actuation of the jacks, causes the outer set of flaps to swing outwardly or inwardly to thereby vary the effective area of the nozzle opening. The flaps of the inner set are held outwardly against the outer flaps by the pressure of gases issuing from the nozzle. In another embodiment two additional sets of flaps are hinged to the free edges of the first set and additional fluid-operated jacks are provided for them to thus increase the range of nozzle opening adjustments.
