A cup holder assembly includes a lens and a cup holder liner. The lens is configured to receive light from a light source and direct the light towards a perimeter edge of the lens. The cup holder liner is composed of a light transmissive material and is disposed above the lens. The cup holder liner includes a peripheral wall that has an interior surface defining a receptacle. The lens extends beyond an exterior surface of the peripheral wall to define a perimeter edge segment of the lens that protrudes from the exterior surface of the peripheral wall to the perimeter edge of the lens. The lens is configured to emit light from the perimeter edge segment into the peripheral wall through the exterior surface thereof to illuminate the interior surface of the peripheral wall of the cup holder liner.

Illuminated cup holder assembly

A light consolidation assembly for attaching to a light pipe includes a housing having therein at least a first light source configured to generate a first light and a second light source configured to generate a different, second light. The light consolidation assembly also includes a light consolidator having a body including a light entry end coupled to the housing and a light exit end. The light entry end has multiple spaced-apart branches that converge into a stem that extends from the multiple branches to the light exit end. The light consolidator is configured to receive the first and second lights into respective first and second branches of the multiple branches. The first and second lights are directed into the stem and exit the light consolidator at the light exit end for transmission through a light pipe disposed at the light exit end of the light consolidator.

Light consolidation assembly

A light assembly is provided that includes a light guide, multiple light pipes, and multiple light sources. The light guide has an elongated body extending along a longitudinal axis. The light guide includes multiple segments arranged axially along a length of the body. Each segment has a light receiving region and a light emitting region. The light pipes are disposed along the light receiving regions and extend parallel to the longitudinal axis. Each of the multiple light sources is optically coupled to an attachment end of a corresponding light pipe. The light emitted by each light source is received by the corresponding light pipe at the attachment end and transmitted through the light pipe towards a distal end of the light pipe. Adjacent segments of the light guide receive light from different light pipes and emit such light from the light guide through the corresponding light emitting regions.

Light assembly with light guide

An LED connector has an LED component and a heat sink. The heat sink includes a plurality of conductors having mounting pads. The conductors are formed from an electrically and thermally conductive material. The LED component is mounted to the mounting pads. The conductors define both electrical circuits and thermal heat sinks for the LED connector.

A light pipe assembly includes a lamp assembly and a light pipe. The lamp assembly has a housing that holds a light source configured to emit light. The light pipe is elongated between an attachment end and an opposing distal end. The attachment end is received in the housing of the lamp assembly. The light pipe receives light emitted by the light source. Additionally, the light pipe includes surface elements that are configured to permit the light to emanate from the light pipe between the attachment and distal ends. The surface elements are arranged in a pattern that provides a predetermined distribution of light emanating from the light pipe.

Light pipe assembly

A low voltage lamp assembly includes a lamp housing having an illumination bore extending along an optical axis and that receives a light transmission member. A low voltage light source is situated within the bore and is axially aligned with the optical axis. A bushing is positioned within the bore and surrounds a portion of the light source. First and second wires extending from the lamp assembly for establishing an electrical connection to the light source. The wires are received by a strain relief pod separated from the lamp housing. The strain relief pod includes a current limiter therein.

Overmolded low voltage lamp assembly

A light pipe having one or more exterior protrusions that function as a secondary light source and an alignment component. The one or more exterior protrusions may provide a secondary light source by reflecting light from a primary light source. The one or more exterior protrusions also may function to align the light pipe with a lamp assembly or an object on which the light pipe is mounted. Further, a lamp assembly having a light pipe receiving portion, with one or more slits to allow an opening to expand upon insertion of the light pipe, and to provide a retention force upon contraction.

Press-fit electrical connector

A light transmitting strip or light pipe 2 is used to illuminate an elongate area along which the light pipe 2 extends. The illumination is provided by light emanating laterally relative to the axis of the light pipe, and the light intensity is substantially uniform, at least to an observer, along the length of the light pipe 2. The light pipe 2 has a clear light guide section 4 and an opaque section 10 that is separated from the light guide section 4 by an air gap 8. The clear section 4 and the opaque section 10 are joined by top and bottom couplings 12 and 14, and the two sections are formed by coextruding an acrylic resin through a single coextrusion die. Light emitted laterally from the light guide 4 toward the arcuate opaque section 10 is reflected laterally through the clear light guide 4 transverse to the axis of the light pipe 2, so that all light extends through the front surface 6 of the light guide 4. By separating the reflecting opaque section 10 from the clear light guide 2 by an air gap 8, the lighting intensity can be more uniform over the length of the lighting strip or light pipe.
