Electrification of a furniture system which has a plurality of structural elements, formed for receiving functional furniture units, comprises multiple plugs ( or ) which can be fastened to a part of the structural element and cables ( or ) which are carried on a part of the structural element. The cables ( or ) have a predetermined length and serve as an electrical connection between multiple plugs ( or ) of two neighboring structural elements. The structural elements are preferably closed frames ( or ), which are formed from at least two vertical longitudinal struts ( or ) and at least two horizontally connecting stays ( or ). The multiple plugs ( or ) are clipped on the longitudinal struts ( or ), in longitudinal slots ( ) arranged therein, in such a way that they can be displaced along the longitudinal slots ( ). A set incrementation or a fastening means protruding from the longitudinal struts ( or ) may also be provided.

Wiring of a modular furniture system

A conductor rail, in particular for the electrification of furniture, has a section member (,) with a longitudinal channel (,) in which there are arranged at least two leads (,) foreseen for the current supply. The longitudinal channel (,) is accessible via a longitudinal slot (,) in the section member (,) in order to be able to contact the leads (,) with a plug at any location. The mentioned at least two leads (,) are arranged sunk in the same lateral wall (,) of the longitudinal channel (,). The plug is characterised by a snout (,) which can be introduced into the longitudinal slot (,), with at least two laterally protruding contact elements (,) which are formed for contacting the leads (,) of the conductor rail.
